Layla has spent enough time running around the room now that I know roughly which corners she likes to “use”. I’ve put down extra litter boxes in those corners – and outside of one or two stray little pellets here or there, she’s been great. Now, when can i start reducing the number of litter boxes? How do I go about doing it?

Is she using both litter boxes? Or is there only one that she is really using?

I think at her age I might continue for a little while to use both boxes if she is out and about.

Or is this more than two boxes?

Find which one she is using the least amount and try removing that one. However, don’t be surprised if she still uses that area. You may want to try removing one that is on a tiled area first to see what happens.

If she’s not spayed yet, you may want to wait until a month after she’s been spayed and she’s a little less agressive about marking territory.

Right now there is her litter pan in her pen, and three corners in the room that she uses/plays in (there’s a lot of corners, so its actually not too many).
