Finn is officially driving me nuts – in fact he kept waking me last night.

All of a sudden he is going mad chewing the bars of his cage…his always done this but even more so now. Even when he is let out and free roaming around the flat, he will go back in his hutch and chew his bars! He has no front teeth so this can’t be doing his gums any good either. He has things to play with but his not interested, all his bothered about is grooming himself. Last night he was really driving me mad at 2am by chewing and clawing at the bars of his hutch and making a right noise….so I moved him to the upper layer where there are no bars that he can reach. Then he started thumping! It gets to a point when you’re thinking “give me a break!!”.

He gets plenty of out time and his been natured for a while now. But for safety reasons I can’t keep him out throughout the night.

I am hoping to have Finn & Myrtle stay together the night on Friday, so that they can have more space to live in once bonded. I would also love to be able to trust Myrtle (spayed) to free roam like Finn….but I think she is just too much of a chewer. I now have to sticky tape the Penn down to the Vinyl as she’s throwing it around with her inside it! I know she wants to go out but she chews to much. NIC Grids she will just throw out of the way of any wall. But I’ll start her out in the hall way where I can quickly stop her causing damage and see how that goes. But she is one of those that will chew where ever she happens to be standing, and she will nearly break her own back tugging on things. Which means they will need to be split during the time Finn is out if she doesn’t stop. Its the carpet i am more worried about as it was expensive.

Oh man, my two have be CRAZY lately, I think it’s just spring time!

They both get plenty of exercise and toys as well, but have taken to digging in their litter box all night and Bun Jovi has been trying to dig a hole in the tile corner of their condo. Thankfully their litter box is huge so it doesnt make a mess, it’s just noisy!

Bertha is a crazy chewer so I have to have heavy tiles all over the place, and cardboard cat scratchers and grass mats all over too… but she also pees if there is hay, so no hay mats!

All I can say is I feel ya… hopefully it will calm down once spring is over!

I thought once mine were bonded they would calm down, but now they are just getting into double the mischief together! lol
