So my new bun Phil seems to wheeze when hes getting worked up.  Its usually only when he’s tense or scared.  Is this a problem that I should get checked out?

I would always recommend a full check up on any new rabbit you adopt just to be safe. Have you done that yet with him?

No I haven’t but I suppose I probably should. The Animal Shelter here gives them all their shots and neuters them but probably doesnt give them a check up…

No, they probably don’t. This way your vet can start establishing a relationship with your new rabbit too and get a chart started on him. I would also recommend since he has been in a shelter to do a fecal test as well.

Turns out that Phil is fine and that when overworked bunnies can sometimes wheeze because of an inflamed nasal passage. I’ll keep a close eye on him but he checks out with the doctor.

That’s good. Better to be safe than sorry.
