We brought home a new bunny last week, and while we’re waiting for the baby to get old enough to be neutered, I’ve introduced them. They started out mostly ignoring each other, but before long, Oreo (the new bun) was chasing TC and humping him. Alright, TC seemed fine with that, he will walk up to Oreo and put his chin on the ground in a rather submissive pose. The last couple days, whenever Oreo catches up to TC, he’ll try to stick his nose under him, maybe to flip him over, or lick his belly? I don’t know, I’ve not heard about that kind of behavior anywhere.

TC also has been humping Oreo, which is a hilarious sight. Earlier today, he jumped and was sitting completely on Oreo, then started humping him. I laughed so loud they both went running!

Lol! I’m not sure why they do that, but my new girl bun does it too. She shoves her face under my boy buns tummy. I think she’s just trying to get his attention.

When rabbits are fixed, they hump for dominance. Otherwise, if they aren’t unfixed.. I can only think of one thing.

FYI, putting his head down isn’t submissive, it’s dominant. TJ is demanding the new bun to groom him. Oreo just wants to make babies. I would suggest waiting for more introductions until the new baby is altered.

They stick their heads down to get grooms. As they develop their communication they stick their heads under the other bunny’s head to ask for grooms, but at the beginning they just stick it anywhere under their new friend, begging for attention.
