So I went Bunny Shopping, I came across a small red box, it was a chocolate looking reindeer and a packet of chocolate drops, dairy free treat box, not suitable for small animals under 2 months, ferrets, degus or chinchillas, I took it to the till and the man said it should be OK for a 4 year old bunny but to keep an eye on my baby

I’m very unsure, it says chocolate and vanilla flavorings, I don’t want to harm my boy, he did miss out on his Christmas and birthday treats with Mummy being ill.

        Should I call the company?

Are Degu and Chinchilla diets different to bunny’s?

I know Ferrets are different to bunny rabbits, ferrets eat meat, that’s all I know, I’m no expert on them.

I wouldn’t risk it at all.

The treat isn’t really for him, it’s more for your enjoyment. As a rabbit, he’d just be happy with an extra helping of his favourite food or an extra special bunny treat (like a tiny bit of delicious fruit for eg) or extra playtime or extra mummy time.

If you look at it from his prespective it’s easy it’s only implementing our perspective on him that makes things harder for us parents!

I don’t think any chocolate flavoured treats are good for bunnies, and most pet store treats are not suitable.

I would just give him some fresh or dried fruit as treats

I would not give it to him because of the chocolate (flavoring), which is poisonous to buns. Olly knows you were sick and I’m sure he doesn’t mind not getting gifts as long as he gets to spend time with you .

I don’t even see the point in pet store treats. Bunnies go mad for veggies and pellets! Mine would much rather have a bit of dill any day.

In chocolates for dogs the theobromin is removed from the chocolate.

I dont know about degus, but Chinchillas need an extremely skinny diet. Thistles and stuff.

I’d still rather buy a bit of dill or coriander for Bam.

Ferrets, degu and chincillas are in the forced carnivore and omnivore category… idk I wouldn’t risk it since buns are forced vegans lol
