What to put in an indoor x-pen to make it comfortable and interesting for a single adult rabbit?

We adopted Little Doll almost a year ago. She is an adult, and I dont know what setting she used to live in. She is extremely cuddly though and loves to be held, petted and kissed.

I moved her from a cage to an x-pen in our living room about a month ago. I am still trying to figure out how to make it the most comfortable and interesting for her. I will try to attach a picture, last time it didnt work.

Currently her x-pen has in it: 2 litter boxes, cuddle cup, small wooden hideaway, ball with hay, soft towel or soft cloth for comfort, food dish and water bottle.

1) Should I add some kind of small cage with a ramp where she could go in and out? I thought maybe she needs to have private area. I noticed that she goes into her hideaway only when she is scared of something like loud sound.

2) Most of the time she sits in the closest corner of the x-pen either directly the mat or in her litterbox. I would like to make that area comfortable for her.

3) Should I add a playhouse. I dont think she will use a 2 story playhouse because she is even afraid to go up the ramp in her outdoor hutch. We even had to shorten the hutch legs so the ramp wouldnt be so steep?

4) What else should I add to make the x-pen comfortable and interesting for her?

It looks great, as long as you bun seems happy they I guess there should be a problem! Pictures of bunny please hehehehe do they have the run of the house to?

I would add some activity items. My bunnies love cardboard boxes. I take a box and cute a small door and window and they have a great time renovating the box. I also like to take toilet paper rolls (the brown paper kind) and stuff them with hay. Fun for flinging. My buns also enjoy toys like baby rattles and plastic balls to toss.

I agree with stitchntwinks – sounds like she is fine and comfortable as it is. You don’t want to overload it with stuff…sometimes having space is more comfortable than having clutter.

I actually have a similar set up. I pretty much keep his cage just like that most of the time because he likes to run around when he’s feeling hyper. When I notice that he’s getting bored (his boredom= tearing up the carpet), I just put a cardboard box I cut some holes into and he likes going in and out of it. I cant wait until he figures out he could jump on it too lol!

I always just take out the box when he ignores it (which is usually around night time) so he can go back to having space. I find that providing toys is better than filling up the space he has. Boy does he love his toys! 

Try experimenting with different toys to see which your bunny enjoys the most. I rotate his toys out so he wont get bored of them, but I do leave his favorites in there all the time: the hay ball and toilet paper roll because he’s always playing with either or.
