pumpkin wouldn’t eat yesterday morning so i made a vet appointment for 9am the next morning and gave her some simethicone and cc, she started eating later that evening and pooped a good bit that night. this morning she finished all her breakfast. at the vet appointment they said she looked really good and they didnt see any bad gas or anything in her x rays, they gave me some pain meds and fluids to give her every 24 hrs and critical care to be split into different meals until she starts eating normally. now we are back home and when we got here she went and pooped some, it was a little small but still better than nothing. she ate some hay, then went to lay down in her hideout. we’ve given her more simethicone and some cc since, but she isnt really eating now. i also noticed that she peed and was laying in it in her cardboard box. im just wondering what i should expect during this, shes my first rabbit and this is my first time dealing with gi stasis so ive been worried sick ever since yesterday. how long did it take your rabbits to start eating again? is it normal that shes just been laying down most of the time? is there anything else i could do to help her, or should i just leave her be for a while? and could she be not eating due to the stress of going to the vet? it was an hour drive to get there and then we were there for a few hours.

I replied in your other thread on some of this as well! It is so horribly stressful having a bun in stasis!

Stasis recovery can be really slow sometimes,  I return to this article often: http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/ileus.html#:~:text=Symptoms%20of%20GI%20stasis%20include,be%20treated%20as%20an%20emergency.

I don’t think you want to rush off to the vet again, but definitely continue the treatments, and update your vet in the morning if she is still seeming worse. She could need a stronger dose of pain medicine or a different motility med. Keeping up with her syringe feeding and pain meds should help keep her stable.

Pain meds can make a big difference. Did you get meloxicam?
