So I know that above 80F buns can get too hot, but what temps are too cold for a bun?  It’s finally very slowly beginning to cool off here, and I love it!  I’ve been keeping the windows open at night, where it’s dipping down to 50F.  It’s not that cold in my apartment, but the breezes coming through the windows I’m sure are a bit chilly, and Zeus’s habitat is right next to the window.  Should I be concerned?

He hasn’t shivered or acted cold, I’m just not sure though.

General guidelines are that bunnies are fine down to 45 or 50 degrees. I say if you’re living in the house too and can stand the temp (even with extra layers of clothes and socks) your bunny is probably more comfortable than you are. My bunnies have never complained, even when I’ve been freezing with 3 layers of shirts and 2 layers of socks on (we keep it in the low 60s in the winter).

The only thing to really be concerned about is drafts – just make sure he has a place to get out of the direct breeze from the window and he’ll be fine. If there’s no where for him to get out of the breeze. maybe closing the window right next to his cage at night (but leaving the others open) would be a good idea.

Depending on where his pen, you might even be able to place a flattened piece of cardboard between the pen and the window so it won’t blow directly in.

Yeah I think I’ll put up “wallpaper” on one side of his pen with some cardboard, the side that faces the window.  That’ll still allow airflow and keep the room cool (my apartment only has 2 windows, so if I close one that’s 50% of the airflow cut off and it gets warm fast!).  But it’ll keep the breezes from blasting directly into his cage.

That’s a good idea! The temperature sounds good, but breezes can be a bit much…especially if they cannot get out of them.
The other concern is sudden drops in temperature-so maybe if it cools quickly shut that windwo for a day or so while he adjusts.
