What kind of bunny is she?

What kind do you think she is?

This is Lola. I’ve been told she looks part Netherland Giant, but I really don’t know. She’s 5 and a half months old and 5lbs and about 3 oz.

She does have the look of a flemish giant to me, but is probably that mixed with something else too. Whatever she is, she’s gorgeous and I want to bunnynap her

The 2nd picture, did you put her in that just for the photo or does she travel around like that? Looks like a baby seat or carrier.

She’s very pretty! Not sure on the exact breed, but maybe her adult weight will help to narrow it down?

Did they mean Flemish Giant? Netherland dwarfs are a very small breed, while flemish giants are a very large one.

She does have a bit of the flemmie look, but she doesn’t weigh what I think a flemmie would weigh at that age. It’s possible that she’ll get quite a bit bigger, but a lot of breeds significantly slow down their growth around 6 months. Really tough to tell until she grows up!

Awhhhhhhhh she is so pretty and adorable!!!! I want to bunny nap too She looks like a Flemish Giant to me, but it depends on how much she ends up weighing.

I say Flemish Giant or some mix of a Flemmie. Hard to ignore that she’d going to be a big gal since she’s already 5 pounds at 5 months! (However, I think full Flemmies would be 5lbs by 3 months?, but I am not a breed expert).   And just look at those ears! I am not sure if I am seeing a collar in one of the photos, but just in case the collar is used all the time, I wanted to mention that it would be best to have her collarless. Especially since she’s at her major growing stage.

Thanks guys! I just looked at some google pictures and she does look like a Flemish giant! And the carseat was just for a quick picture, she rides safely in her pet carrier for vet trip/outings! And thank you for the tip about the collar, I’m having to take it off of her anyway, it’s almost too small! haha

The only reason she wears a collar is because I’d probably lose her in the house sometimes without the bell on it. lol

A collar can get caught on something, and if she panics, could break her neck. Better to not have it on at all.

She’s gorgeous.

The bell is not a good idea as well as the collar – rabbits are prey animals and that type of noise can be stressful for them. I imagine once she gets bigger you will not lose her – I hope you reconsider and take the collar off her – it’s not meant for rabbits.  Also because she is growing, that collar is going to get snug and I would worry that she will choke on it when it gets too tight.

I just took it off! I didn’t think about breaking her neck. It’s been on since she was about 3 months old. Oh, I wanted to add, I’m really not sure how old she is. I got her like March 5th or so and the store told me she was probably about 3 months old..but I could tell they didn’t know much..they also told me she was a Netherland Dwarf. lol definitely not.

I love the giant Flemmy’s and the REWS, If I hadn’t received Pepper and Piglet as rescues that’s probably what I would have gone for. However I would not trade my fat floofy snuggle bunny (French Angora) Piglet, or my clever, crafty, sleek and sassy (Silver Marten) Pepper for anything. I just can’t see myself ever having a mini, dwarf or lop after having these guys. Uppity ears and big bunny butts are the rule for this household.

It is sad, some people may care but I wouldn’t..she could get as big as a dog and I wouldn’t care.

I’ve been having her since the beginning of March, so almost 3 months.. I took her to her first vet trip a couple of weeks after and I asked if she looked about 3 months old like the store said, and the vet agreed.. but like I said, it’s really just an estimate. When I got her this is what she looked like:

She has like doubled..maybe even tripled in size in not even 3 months.

From those photos I would guess she’s much younger, maybe even 6 weeks when you got her. You can really age flemmies by their nose shape, very rounded when super young and they get longer and more pointy as they age

Really?? That’s crazy! That would only make her about 4 months old right now! Wow, now I’m so confused as to how old she is.

She does look A LOT like an American Chinchilla.. I’ve always thought that when I saw their pictures.

Easiest way to tell between Flem and Chin are the body shape when loafing But it has to be positioned right too, so thats tough. But Lady has a definite violin shape, almost makes me think of like, a black widow how her head and shoulders are low and then her bum is very arched Chins have a commercial shape, which is just a even arch from neck up and then back down, *but* Lady can lay in a way that she has that too.
