My bunny has clumps of hair stuck together and it looks weird to say the least. I’ve called animal hospitals but none are open. Is it fungi maybe? Please help me out.

I doubt it’s a fungi, fungal infections are usually in dark enclosed places like ears and mouths. Did your rabbit get into anything sticky? Are you talking fur clumped up in the area where the whiskers are, right near the nose on the muzzle? One of my rabbits got clumps of fur all on her muzzle from something she ate. Also sometimes rabbits can molt- shed- in really weird patterns. I would try to check if her fur is sticky or wet. If not, keep an eye on her for any scratching or signs of discomfort. Then contact the vet when they are open ☺.

            Hi Jim
I inserted the photo in the post for you. The file had uploaded but there just needed to click on the Insert Image icon for it to show.

It’s a bit hard to tell clearly from the photo. Is it wet under her chin?

Does she drool or have problems eating?

It looks like drooling to me. Is the area damp? A vet would need to look at her teeth.

Is her eye watering? Is the fur wet and clumped just below the eye?

                  Hi Jim
Were you able to get your rabbit seen?

Im having trouble seeing exactly where this is. Initially I thought the brown area was one side of her nose but now Im thinking perhaps it’s the tip of an ear if you have a lop rabbit?
If it’s neck where youve discovered the fur like this, could she have been chewing at it?
If the cheek, possibly an abscess that has burst and the rabbit has cleaned up what came out?
