I got some hay from a farm feed store today. Does anyone know what some of this is? They said it’s a mix of a bunch of types like alfalfa and clover. I know they shouldn’t have too much of that but it seems like a lot of it is Timothy too.

I don’t see much or any clover or alfalfa in the picture. Neither of those are grasses, so they have leaves (they are both legumes). I’m not an agronomy expert but it looks like orchard grass or some other combo of grasses.

Thank you! I’m trying to learn what different stuff looks like. I thought it looked like there was orchard grass too. Is there anything bad to watch out for in farm hay? Or should I be worried about a lack of the better nutrients? Thanks.

That’s brome and orchard. I think. :squinting: The pictures are small, at least on my screen.
