        Hi everyone!

I was given a rabbit for my BD several months ago. I was told that it’s a short-haired angora rabbit but as I started to search the info I realized that there is no such thing.

Could someone please help me to find out the breed of this little rascal.

Hi! I don’t know much about breeds so I’m not sure but he/she might be a Dutch? So cute!

I have a dutch! She kinda looks like a dutch, but with less distinctive markings. I think I see a little white on her nose, paw, and there’s definitely that spot by her shoulders.

This is her. She has short, silky fur and it looks like your bun does too!

How old is your bun? I don’t know myself how long it takes for a Dutch bunny’s markings to come in completely, but I definitely see the beginnings of their classic markings. I love my two new Polish buns to bits but Dutch are gorgeous.

I’m not sure Dutches develop theor markings over time. My bunny boy to-be is half dutch and i saw pictures of him before his fur came in as a baby. You could see where his white fur would grow in for his markings and he has seemed to always had his markings.

Do you know if your babu is a pureblood? Because i could see it being part dutch. My bunny boy who is half duth, is the only one in his litter who had complete dutch markings and that cute does look like she has partial dutch markings.

I thought their markings were present from the time their fur grows in? I got Ophelia at 9 weeks and she had her exact markings already. I have seen that some bunnies just have “incomplete” markings that never resemble a classic dutch. That could be the case here. Looks young, maybe in range of 4-5 months? Mine is going on 8 months and the above picture was taken yesterday. If you google “mismarked dutch rabbit” you’ll see what I mean about an incomplete pattern.

I’m gonna go with Dutch mix. Unless she has blue eyes. Having blue eyes with her coloring would suggest the Vienna gene is at play.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I’m surprised there are so mane of them
The bunny is a boy named Finic (which means date fruit in Russian ), he’s approx. 5-6 months old.

Finic is just a total adorable fluffball! I think you and BunNoob<3 are right, he's a "mismarked" Dutch. I looked it up just now myself and see that it's actually a lot harder to get "correct" markings on Dutch rabbits than I had supposed, so there are undoubtedly a lot of these little beauties hopping around.

I actually learned that Ophelia has some pretty good markings!  ….or so I think!! When she was a baby she definitely had a blaze that went through the ears and connected to the neck, which they say is desirable! She still has it, but it is verrryyyyy thin and subtle, must be the black hair around it that grew in and covered it up some! The line around her isn’t totally straight, but overall her markings were pretty impressive to me!

I was using this guide to assess her markings. I think she’s a pretty great representation of a dutch! Of course, I would NEVER show her…even if I do think she is absolutely beautiful

I’m particularly drawn by Ophelia’s ears… Ever since I started my trek to adopting, I’ve developed (blame the lady who showed me how to do it!! &nbsp a near-instinctive urge to give every bun I come across a nice long gentle ear rub, and Ophelia has PERFECT ears!
