Welcome to BB C&S! A good question. It’s always wise to get some opinions when your pet rabbit is acting different than usual. They’re such routine pets, so something off kilter can be a sign of illness and/or immediate intervention required.
Under the assumption that he doesn’t have an ear infection or another medical condition that could be causing this, here are some things that I know cause Wick to shake his head:
1) Fur in ear: When Wick’s shedding/molting, or just grooming himself, sometimes fur flies up and lands near/in his ear, so the next half-hour he twists his head to try and get it out.
2) Half-Binky: When I come home from work, Wick runs to me and does a half-binky, which does not involve a full jump-binky, but the body twist just occurs at the head.
3) Frustration/Miffed: When Wick goes into the bathroom (he’s not allowed in there), I’ll say his name in the -no no- tone or walk over to him, and he’ll head shake on his way out.
— Any of these seem plausible?
