The post on snoring made me think of this. Do you find that your hearing has become more acute, the better to hear wee bunny noises? It’s as if they make sounds frequently, but at really soft decibles. I was able to notice the smallest thing. Tell us what sounds you have noticed.

My example: Spockie and I were visiting his grandparents, and we were in the kitchen/family room. I was at the table playing cards with my mother while he had scooted behind the lounger, presumably to lounge in his favorite corner for napping. (about 12 feet away.) Hidden from view of course. All was quiet and serene.

Out of the blue I said quietly, “He’s up. He’s washing his face.”

Mum: “How do you know that?”

        Me: “I can hear him.”

        Mum: “I don’t hear anything. He’s napping.”

Me: “No, he’s awake. Go look.”

Mother proceeds to tip toe over to chair and peek behind it to see if he’s asleep. He is on his back legs, washing his face with his front paws. Mother looks at me in amazement.

im like this when my buns leave their condo, darren can never hear the difference between them leaving it and them just moving around in it, whereas i say ‘here comes bunny!’ and he never believes that i can hear him lol

Yes! Bunnies will often whip their paws out a few times before using them to wash their face. So you often hear that ‘whup-whup’ sound right before a bath begins.

It reminds me of Bullwinkle, right before he pulls the tiger out of his hat….”Nothin’ up my sleeve….PRESTO!” ^_^

But I’m afraid my hearing is not what it used to be, these days…so I do tend to miss a lot. But I’ll be jiggered if I miss the sound of something that will have me thinking a bun is in any kind of trouble; a thump, a scrabble, any sliding or scooting noise brings me at a full gallop to defend! *nods*
