I would love some links to good rabbit harnesses but my budget is under 20 and preferably of amazon or wish. It needs to be comfy for my medium sized rabbit and safe s she can not get out

        Thanks, Libby Ellen

As far as I know all rabbit harnesses are unsafe as they may become scared and break their backs by trying to struggle. But there may be disagreements with that theory.

I would suggest getting the invisible kind.

Seriously though, harnesses are not very safe. Even people who compete with their rabbits in agility will admit they are unsafe. There is no way to control a rabbit wanting to bolt. So if something scares them and they are attached to a harness, one of two possibilities can result: A) Bunny gets loose from the harness or B) Bunny comes to the end of the leash, flails about and injures their leg or back.

If you want to take your bun outside, a secure exercise pen is the safest option. And, of course, it’s a good idea to supervise them at all times while in the exercise pen.

I also agree that harnesses are not safe. I’ve heard of too many injuries resulting from using a harness. Besides leg and back injuries, I recently saw a warning about harnesses after a rabbit suddenly bolted and got the harness jammed inside his neck/throat.

Please DO NOT put a harness on your rabbit. They are not safe and your rabbit can end up with broken legs or worse.

Agreeing with the others. X pens are a much better alternative.

That is still a harness. Please do not do that to your bunny. It is not safe. Things happen even if you don’t think they will. They are prey animals and may become scared very easily so you just never know.

Okay it’s clear you’ve set your mind on putting a harness and leash on your bunny, despite the fact you’ve been told how dangerous they are…

He/she may look happy but the issue is if they get startled and try to run or jump, they can get tangled. A poster here recently dealt with this – the bunny ended up breaking a leg and possibly needing amputation
