Hi guys, I was wondering what exactly counts as dust for alfalfa hay. Do the leaves that have fallen off and crumbled count as dust as well or can I still feed that to my rabbit? For example, in the first photo I can definitely tell the stuff at the bottom is dust, but in the second photo, I don’t know if those leaves at the top can be fed to Charlie

Here i can definitely tell that that's dust at the bottom But what about the leaves at the top??

Those look like hay crumbs! LOL

You can sprinkle little pieces on top of your bunny’s pellets as a treat. If it’s literally dust though, I would throw it out.

Oh LOL I thought hay crumbs were what people were talking about when they say dust?? Cuz wouldn’t these crumbs cause respiratory issues and sneezing? I guess I’ll sprinkle them in his pellet plate then?

The bigger pieces are “crumbs”. What’s in the bottom is hay dust. It’s really fine.
