My Mother in Law is very excited! She is getting baby ducks! We got to talking and wondered how fun it would be to let my bunnies interact with her baby ducks. What do you think? The baby ducks are very young and non agressive. I don’t know what to expect though. My bunnies can’t be together yet so we would try one at a time. What do you think?

I wouldn’t, personally. Animals are unpredictable and you never know what could happen. I’m thinking the bunnies could do more damage to the ducks than the other way around.

I had ducks when I was little. We hatched them from eggs. I remember them biting my brothers butt a lot (he was maybe 2 and they were grown up ducks now) and then him crying. They had to eventually be given away to a lady with a farm because they were picking on Colin too much. Oh…and they ruined the lawn. My Dad was very unhappy with that. I don’t see why you would want to introduce them to eachother, the ducks would probably have no interest. And ducks poop everywhere…I mean everywhere! I wouldn’t want my bunnies hoping around in grass and landing in duck poop. Yuck.

And I don’t know anything about ducks in terms of health issues and any possible parasites that they may carry. I wouldn’t risk it.

Very good point! I don’t know the health issues of ducks either. I definetly wouldn’t want my bunnies hopping around in thier poop! LOL. I was just wondering how baby ducks and bunnies would react with one another. I wouldn’t do it if someone would be harmed or stressed. We go to church with a lady who is an animal lover and she has lots of different kinds that live together.

How did the ruin the lawn? Just covering it in poop? My Father in Law wouldn’t be happy about that at all!

You are probably right. These ducks are really small. They just hatched not too long ago.

Their poop killed the grass, it’s very messy and a very large and they do it often. There isn’t a good way to clean it – it was just very unsanitary for 2 young children to be around. We had 6 at the time and that’s a lot of poop in 1 backyard. Personally I just wouldn’t do it, ducks are yucky. Cute yes…but yucky.
