  I have an adorable little bunny. He is maybe a little more than a footlong, and he’s a kind of greyish brown color with white feet. He’s about 4 years old now, and I still have no Idea what breed he is! I can’t post a pic right now, but I will soon. I am pretty sure he’s lop but he has the cute one ear up, one ear down look. Just hoping for some ideas?

  He’s most likely a mix. Do you have a collar on him? That is definitely not recommended as rabbits have extremely fragile bones and they can break their backs.

  No I would never put a collar on thumper! The picture was taken this summer. Thumper loves to hop around in open spaces, and he doesn’t mind a harness and lead. It was in my front yard so I didn’t want him running off, so he only wears it when we go on walks

  Well not anymore at least a lot of dogs have moved in to my neighbour recently so I decided to stop.

  Cute! There definitely are some lop mixes that have one ear up and one ear down..we like to call them “helicopter buns”
  
  Like Sarita said, on this forum we recommend that harnesses/leashes do not be used on bunnies. Before I learned more about bunnies I did also try to use a harness on my bunny, but it can really be quite dangerous. Although they might seem calm on the harness, bunnies are prone startle and bolt at any time from a sudden unexpected sight or sound (which there are plenty of outdoors)…if this happens while they’re on the harness, they can become entangled and severe injury to the back or legs may result. I know it sounds like a worst-case-scenario sort of thing, and it’s easy to think “oh my bunny doesn’t startle easily, so it’ll be fine”, but all it takes is one moment for injury to occur and we have had members here who have been through this heartbreaking situation. Just something to think about!

  As I mentioned earlier, I stopped using a harness on thumper. You’re right it can be dangerous. Thank goodness nothing happened

  Definitely a lop mix! He could be a purebred lop – sometimes the ears don’t lop completely or at all, and his general body and face shape are very lop-ish.

  Yeah he’s got a lot of lop in him but strangely his littermate had velvet Rex fur! At least the pets store said he was thumpers brother… Maybe that’s it?
