I adopted Leafy a few days ago, alongside his girl Ivy from the RSPCA. Ivy’s forms identify that she is a Netherland Dwarf x, but Leafy’s form and vaccination book are just blank (even his age is blank, but thought to be about 13 months). Anyone have any idea what he might be? He weighs 1.53kg and here is a photo for reference:

        TIA

Considering his size, he’s probably a dwarf mix as well. Dwarf rabbits can have babies that do not carry the dwarfism gene (false dwarf). So… I’m going to guess a dwarf mix.

It’s hard to tell from the photo, but his coloring looks to be a tricolor. Maybe blue/fawn/white variety? The harlequin pattern gene has been introduced into a lot of breeds because the coloring (harlequin, brindle, tricolor, etc.) is so popular. This includes dwarf breeds like Nethies and Hollands.

Whatever he is, he is beautiful so it doesn’t really matter to me. I was trying to get quotes for insurance and this particular company wants to know their breeds. I’m visiting a vet with them today so we shall see what they have to say too.

I think he is some kind of dwarf x harlequin too! Especially because those darker markings!

Insurance companies need to know what breed your rabbit is? That’s weird. Haha! There are lots of people that have no clue what breed or breeds their bunny is because mixes are so common. I was just guessing based on your bunny’s size and appearance. But I suppose my guess is as good as any!
