What book are you currently reading?

I picked up The Dwarves from my building’s lobby (we have a big bookcase where we leave books we’ve read and don’t intend to keep, and pick up ones other residents have dropped off). It’s a translation of a German high fantasy novel by Markus Heitz. If you like the genre, I recommend it – it’s incredibly rich and the characters are well developed very engaging.

I’m rereading The Book Thief, which I’ve probably posted before. It’s AMAZING, by Markus Zusak, really well written.

I’m reading – The Little Friend by Donna Tartt – started a few weeks back and lovedthe way she writes (the 1st I’ve read of hers)

Forgotten to carry on reading it (preferring to natter on BB!) but I’m off work next week (and will LIMIT my time on the comp !!!) so will let you know how it goes !!

Cinny– Great book!

I just finished 2 books over the weekend. “No such person” by Caroline B. Cooney, and “The River”. I’ll have to check who wrote it, I can’t find it out online. I need to make a trip to the library ASAP. Any suggestions on what to read? I generally just pick stuff out of the YA because why not? Open to suggestions though!

I just found this cool website where you can buy books for very cheap and if your purchase is over $10 the shipping is free in the USA… I generally don’t purchase books (because I don’t often re-read books enough to make purchasing a $20 book worth it…BUT I may have to look into this a little more )

Yeeey! Q8 believe me yiu won’t be disappointed.
First one is the slowest, but even that awesome. Steven Erikson is an archaeologist and antrophologist. And I must say I haven’t seen a writer with better understanding of human cultures and civilizations.

Just got back from the Library! My haul consists of “The Fault In Our Stars” by John Green, “Salt to the Sea” by Ruta Sepetys, “Shadow Scale” by Rachel Hartman, “Will Grayson” by John Green & David Levithan, and “Half Wild” by Sally Green.

I’ve got some reading to do!

Yey Ellie! Actually Erikson was recommended to me from my friend from Nederland, so is there some thing about him in Holland I don’t know about lol.
Btw. “House of Chains” Karsa Orlong? I hated that guy at the beginning but he grows on you, you will see.

Q8, summertime book binges are great! Summer is a requirement though and we’ve been a bit lacking in that dept lately. Last summer I read Watership Down and the Goldfinch and re-read the Alexandria Quartet in my hammock, but this year I’d need to build an igloo a around it if I were to sit there and read. A rain-proof igloo :/

Was just in our local bookstore and picked up The Scarlett Letter, The Oath by Frank Peretti and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. Should be a fun weekend

“Child 44” by Tom Rob Smith (NOTE: There is a graphic scene involving killing a cat, so it’s not for everyone.) And also “Insects: The Yearbook of Agriculture 1952.” by the US Department of Agriculture… My reading interests are weird, don’t judge me lol. I buy books at yard sales and it looked interesting, and looks cool on my shelf.

Got my GED and a new job so I’ve been pretty busy and worn out to check the forums that often! And I’m so guilty of that. I’m running out of book shelf space, too.  I at least TRY to read what I buy though before it’s banished to the shelf to sit and look pretty.

I nearly finished Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind. Wonderful read! As someone who loves history and science being written in a lighthearted, accessible way, it’s amazing!

Greatest way to read: while snuggling a bun. Better with a electronic reader or… *nibbling sounds*

Stayed up late last night to finish this book. Can’t recommend it enough. A really awesome “feel good” book. How adopting a pet pig changed the lives of two men and so many other people and animals.
