What kind of chew sticks? Twigs?

You can start introducing veggies at 12 weeks. I would say 12 weeks is a good time for fresh grass and weeds. Just make sure nothing has been treated with pesticides or contaminated by other animals.

Are you in the US? You should also be aware that RHDV is spreading in the US. It’s mostly in the west, but is slowly spreading east. It’s best to keep bunnies indoors in these areas.

              Hey!

I would say 12 weeks is okay as well. I always like to give them a small piece of something and then wait 24hrs and then try another new thing 🙂 just to ensure it sits well with their sensitive tummies.

Just a note from a fellow UK bun mum. Its even more crucial in the UK that you ensure your rabbits are vaxed against myxomatosis and RVHD 1 & 2, they are horrendously widespread in the UK to the point where even indoor rabbits have been known to become infected by owners tracking the virus in on shoes or flies flying in and biting them. It is recommended in the UK that every rabbit indoor or outdoor is vaxed yearly against all 3 diseases. A lot of vets over here offer good deals and care packages for rabbit vacancies.

No trying to scare you, just thought I’d mention incase you didn’t know as they are very nasty diseases.

There is a triple-vaccine available in Europe, Nobivac Myxo-RHD Plus. It covers myxo, RVHD1 and RVHD2 and is given yearly. I have had two buns vaccinated with this vaccine.
