Hi everyone again, hope you are all looking forward to christmas!

I have a small problem, well i think its a problem but im not to sure if it is

Yesterday kingston was running arount in the living room and he came to me for a pet, when i stopped petting he wasnt pleased so i picked him up and put him on my lap for more strokes.

He relaxed on my knee, put his head down and purred as i stroked him but after a while i noticed my knee was getting wet where his head was rested.

I assumed that because he was relaxed he was salivating like humans do sometimes (like on a pillow!)

By the time he decided to move and have a look around on the sofa he had left a huge wet patch on my leg and im not sure if it came from his mouth, nose or under his chin where his scent gland is.  The only thing i am certain that it isnt is wee.

Can anyone help? im worried he might have a cold or something!!!

        Happy holidays everyone

Rabbits don’t get colds like we do. It sounds like she was just slobbering because she was relaxed much like we do as you suggested.

Sometimes rabbits slober when they have dental problems BUT that is only one symptom and you would notice other unusual behaviors or changes other than this. But based on what you said it just sounds like happy slobber in my opinion.

did you feel anything, any movement? it could also be that she was licking your leg. my bun licks the couch and by the time she’s done there’s always a HUGE wet circle on the couch.

I’ve never heard of bunnies slobbering, but I know that when my cat is super happy she drools- A LOT! And people often find that weird, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you have a happy, drooly bunny!

Hmm happy drools very interesting.    Your bun really likes the attention you give her.

Is she eating normally? Sometimes it can mean teeth problems.  If she is only doing this when you pet her then I am sure is happy drools.

If she drools all the time then that is another issue.  Teeth issue.

And a drooling cat?   The bun and the cat can get together and really be making some happy drools heheeha

He is eating properly and i think he was just laid still so it could be happy drools. He being weird today tho because my fiance’s brother, wife and daughter have moved in with us until they find a house and kingston will only come out of his cage for 5 mins before running back in.
I think he is freaked out by the number of people in the house now aww and i was doing so welll with him too
                    Any advice?

                    Happy holidays!

LOL Chuck ‘drools’ on my arm when we’re cuddling -some of it is licking but if he rests his head on me he slobbers

On the extra people in the house, when you notice he’s sleeping or trying to rest, you could drape a sheet over his cage-just to give him a ‘shut out’ from all the activity. He will most certainly adjust quickly though
