Hello! (I hope I’m in the right forum for this.)
So I’ve had my new buns for a little over 2 months now. They are Holland lops and both are fixed and have had trips to the vet and checked out good and healthy. I have a girl, Cocoa, and a boy, Bean.
Only issue is that my girl Cocoa often has a wet nose. I have asked her doctor about this, but she found no issues. Cocoa’s nose swabs were clean, and while her nose often seems wet, there is no color to the discharge. She doesn’t sneeze, has great appetite, her eyes aren’t runny, has regular poops, and lots of energy… I called her vet about it today since the last time I brought the buns to the vet was for their spay/neuter (6-6-2011) and told her that Cocoa still had a consistantly had a wet nose and, after hearing the details, said there doesn’t seem to be any cause for concern since she’s completely healthy otherwise.
I use carefresh for bedding and the rabbits have water bowls instead of bottles. I’ve often wondered if she was just getting too eager when drinking and was dipping her face it the water, but I’m just not sure if that’s the case or not. When I see her lift her face up from drinking, it doesn’t appear to be soaked. I wonder if her nose is just easily irritated from any sort of dust? Could it be allergies?
My previous rabbit would sometimes get a running eye that would come and go… and we couldn’t figure out the cause of that either. Again, could it be bunny allergies?
Anyway… I’m stumped and was just wondering if anyone ever has ever had this issue or something similar?
