it doesn’t look as bad as my daughter was saying. But since her hamster died from wet tail she has become ultra aware of any thing that is out of the norm.

i saw in one of your other posts that you were giving carrots and fruit. i would see if she gets better by not giving her any fruit or carrots, they don’t need to have them. i wouldnt give any treats. what veggies do u feed her and how much?

we feed mostly hay and pellets. when I maks a salad for dinner I will give the greens from the corrots or the celery as well as some of the carrot slices. But only sometimes. I am new at this so I just want to make sure that they are getting every thing that they need.

                  Cupcake says HI to all

is it iceberg lettuce? i think iceberg and celery are mostly water and not so good for them to have and carrots have a lot of sugar. but i dont think carrots would cause runny poop unless it was a lot of them, but im not sure. the silly thing is that as soon as u think of a bunny u think of carrots. i had no idea until i came here that they werent so good to have. someone probably has the link to the veggie list. i would maybe try to just give hay and limited pellets and see if that helps. i think when its runny they need more fiber and thats in the hay. i hope someone else will step in here that knows more.

I would review the diet list and see that your bunny is getting what is recommended for house bunnies.

Has your bunny ever has a stool sample checked at a vet clinic- many bunnies can have coccidia which can cause mushy stool and if caught early and treated will have not harmful or lasing affects- but it can be fatal if left untreated as it destroys/attacks the intestinal walls.  Out of 3 bunnies I have brought home- 1 tested positive- he was treated- waited a couple of months- and then he re-tested negative.  But if I had not tested him- I would have had to treat all 3 bunnies if he had not been diagnosed before he was moved into the room with the adult bunnies.  And he showed no symptoms- looked healthy, but since I work at a vet clinic I knew how important it was to check him.

What amounts of pellets and veggies are you feeding DAILY, and what type of pellets, timothy or alfalfa? Pellets are usually the culprit when it comes to digestive issues, NOT veggies as so many people believe. I agree that a check-up with a rabbit-savvy vet is in order.

I agree with Beka on this one. Pellets aren’t always the best for the bunny digestion.

I’d suggest you take away the pellets for a while, make sure your bunny gets her 80 % hay a day. One of mine had loose stools and the problem was solved with a strict hay diet and FibrePlex. But if it is really bad, you really ought to check with a vet.

Has it cleared up by now? If not, you need to see a vet.
