  We’re going to make an offer on “my” house!
  
  Please cross all crossables for me and wish me so much luck! I’m going to need it!
  
  The house is listed at $99 900 but we’re going to offer $84 000 initially and see what they counter…!

  I wish there were such things as houses for $99,000 around here. That wouldn’t even get you a condo in San Diego!

  I just met with my realtor to make the offer…
  and during our meeting the realtor for the house called… and said the sellers will not take less than $95 000. Why their realtor couldn’t have said that 3 weeks ago is beyond me.
  But now I have some serious thinking and talking with my parents to do (as they would be cosigning).
  
  95 000 would make my mortgage payments over $500/month…
  For one person… *sighs*… that’s so high…
  
  I don’t know what to do.

  Well that is a steep payment for one snigle person. I would say, let the offer stand (I doubt they’ll have any other offers) and to let you know if they change thier mind. Then if it is meant to be, it’s meant to be. If not, then have fun and keep looking.

  That is a drag. I agree with Scarlet Rose, let the offer stand, no one else seems to be jumping for it. Do you have any wiggle room at all to make a counter offer that will not crush your budget? If so, you can toss that out to them after a bit, they may be more receptive.
  
  Also keep looking, a house is a huge commitment and you never know, something as good or better may be just around the corner.

  Oh I also had another thought, did you have a house inspection done? If not I would strongly recommend it and if there is something that needs to be fixed you can counter saying xyz needs to be fixed or here are the issues with the house, now will you accept the offer?

  I like the idea of having it inspected before you make a counter offer. I bet there are some things you need to know. Sounds like your Dad is all in favor of this move for you.

  Yes inspections are important. I am glad you have your dad’s support, but please do be circumspect about your offers, as you know the housing market is tanking right now. You don’t want to drop a huge amount of coin and then find out 30 days from now that you could’ve gotten it for less.

  Me and 7 buns are all crossing fingers for you! (well, the buns don’t do it quite so well, but when they flop on their sides their little legs kinda cross a bit….) If I were you, I would try not to stress too much because if this doesn’t end up being the house for you, its OK and I’m sure that there is another one out there that is perfect for you! My fiance and I just recently got an offer accepted on a house (last week!) so I think its a week of good luck for us bunny people
