         We went to a flea market today and in the back there was a booth with a guy selling birds, really young guinea pigs and really young baby bunnies. They were so tiny I don’t think they could have been 8 wks, maybe 6 wks at the most, it made me so sad. When I was looking at them someone came up and bought one of the girls for breeding and said they had 20 bunnies at home! Ugh.

        One of the little black ones came up to me and nosed my finger a little, I wanted to take him home but I didn’t ((

        But the good news is we are going home tomorrow night! I haven’t seen my bunny in 10 days, I miss him so much! I hope he isn’t toooo mad at me, I am so anxious/excited.

            It’s so awful to see bunnies for sale anywhere for me.

            I have a breeder on my Facebook page (I know) and every time I see her boasting about some “great breeding” I want to say ‘but who will take care of those babies??…They’re pets/babies, not dollar signs!!!!’

              Sad =/

              I believe it is illegal for bunnies and small animals to be sold in California on open air markets and such.

                Awhhh that is so sad Don’t you just wish you could save them all?? I know I do.

                I know how you feel, if I leave my bunnies for just a day I miss them.

                    youre right Chacha. There are some articles in the LA Times website regarding a crackdown on those. It is illegal for that as well as selling them before weaning age.

                      Yeah, the law went into effect January 1st. It outlaws the selling of live animals on any street, sidewalk, parking lot or other public right-of-way.

                        This market was in FL, I don’t think it is illegal there because every market I’ve gone too has young animals for sale, especially the designer mutts like “chorkies” and “puggles”
