Going with the shelter, price more agreeable to Hubby.  They have their own vets and do rabbits often.

They were booked a few weeks out, as is everyone, so scheduled for the 11th.

Should give the two more time to get to know each other thru the cage.

It’s good that you were able to find a price that worked a bit better for you.

In terms of allowing them to get to know each other through the cage, that is fine. Once they are neutered, the priority is giving them separate, restricted space so they can recover smoothly.

You should ask them about their “wake up” procedures for their rabbits and the important question of loss rates. It is true that shelter vets do tons of neuters, so they are experienced at it, but they usually will neuter like 8 rabbits in a day and have them all recovering at the same time, so there is less attention paid to each rabbit. With your other vet you would know the are paying closer attention to Walter.

Also make sure they send you come with pain meds for at a couple days.
