So I had a look at the blurb with the video and some of the comments left by viewers. Don’t think it really helped though. The translations for the japanese dialogue are even more confusing! lol
Here’s some comments made that may help understand….or not…
Cat Shit One was originally a manga in the ’90s by the same name. It was an animal rendition of Vietnam where the rabbits were the American soldiers and cats were the Vietnamese. It’s been updated to where the rabbits are still Americans but the camels are Iraqi soldiers. Apocalypse Meow has nothing to do with Cat Shit One.

Um, yes, Apocalypse Meow has to do with Cat Shit One. In North America, when it was released, it was called Apocalypse Meow.

The bunnies are representing americans. Its actually a sort of pun. Rabbit in japanese is “usagi” which has “usa” + “gi”.

All in all, I think it’s a cult following thing and/or a marketing tool for the animators. Blurb mentions target market for those interested in the animations. Also, targeting viewers that are into survival games.
What’s really weird is seeing 2 non violent species attacking each other with guns. Almost as absurd as seeing in real life, the human species doing this to each other!
