Weird thumping, plz help!!!!

So my friend and I bought a bunny together. We’ve had him since he was four months old, he got neutered last month. We both take care of him, I mainly fix his home, clean his litter box, fill his hay. Doing maintence stuff on a daily basis. While he seemed to have attached himself to my friend more so than I. He is finally starting to warm up to me, a little bit more. My friend is asleep, I went to go and give him his lettuce for the day, like I always do. Walked into the room, hand fed him a couple of pieces picked him up and put him in his cage. Hoping he would eat his lettuce, pellets and drink some water. He’s been out roaming a lot of the day, while he can get in and out on his own, sometimes he moves the cage weird and can’t figure out how to get back in. So after I put him in, he ate some food and went to his litter box so I assumed he had to go to the bathroom. I went into his cage and fixed his blankets and stuff moved his two food dishes and straighten everything out. I when I leave his cage and go to leave the room all together, he moves his cage quicker than I’ve ever seen him, and runs out, and thumps a few times. While he had thumped before and usually I understand what we have done in order for him to thump. So I left the room and he stopped, I got confused so I went in and laid on the floor so I could see him, he ran into a corner of the room, started at me and thumped a whole bunch, so I left the room and stood in the doorway and he came out and stretched and just did bunny things. Until I made a noise he thumped at me again and ran to hide. I have done nothing out of the normal today, that I didn’t do yesterday and every time I seem to go near him he starts thumping. He wasn’t thumping at me this afternoon. Just after I gave him his lettuce for the day. If anyone could give any suggestions that would be wonderful.
I’m also wondering if it has anything to do with my friend not being around him much today, as she isn’t feeling the greatest and has been sleeping most of the day, while yes. He had bonded with her more, we both live together and I’ve had him the same amount of time.

It is the op, I decided not to let him get the best of me and I came into the room, sat down and started reading. To which he came out quickly and as soon as he smelled me came out and was looking for pets. I think the little boy just wanted some attention.

The way Im reading this is: he didnt like the way you arranged his cage and held a little grudge by thumping at you every time you entered his territory. Sounds like the little break you had away from him helped him calm down, forgive you, and then beg for some loving

[Puppy_Diamond_the_Lionheads]

Hi!  It sounds like we’re having a similar issue with our female Lionhead, Diamond.  She and her brother (Puppy – they’re bonded) have free range of the living room as long as we’re home – this is because Diamond, while potty trained, sometimes won’t go back in her cage to go to the bathroom and will either pee/poop outside the cage or jump into Puppy’s cage and poop all over his cage.  She’s also the more mischievous and braver one of the two so we need to watch her.

Anyways, yesterday, Puppy had returned back to his cage and was eating and more or less ignoring Diamond when she started tearing back and forth in the room.  Then she ran into the corner and thumped her back legs multiple times before tearing back and forth again.  We watched her do this for about five minutes, and she was always backing herself into tv stand corner and stomping at the wall she was facing.

I finally went to go pick her up after about 5 minutes and this was one of the rare occasions where she didn’t struggle.  She was grunting and eyes were bulging.  After petting her, she seemed to calm down and eyes returned to normal.  I put her back in her cage but she continued to stare at that same corner.  Do you think something outside could have scared her?  We didn’t do anything outside of the ordinary – it snowed all day so we just stayed in…
