Is your bun eating as they should? Especially hay is important for proper gut function. If your bun’s appetite and food consumption is unchanged, there will probably soon be better looking poop.

Misshapen poops like these mean there’s a gut slow-down. It sometimes happens when a bun is shedding. If its coupled with a decrease in appetite, something is up and you need to monitor closely and contact a vet if it persists. How does you bun appear to you? Normal energy, normal activity, curious, social? A bun that doesn’t feel well tends to hide away and lie very still, often hunched up.

A gut slowdown can cause gas, so your bun might benefit from simethicone baby gas drops, 1 ml per hour for a few hours. Gas is painful for a rabbit and makes them lose their appetite  and so it can all become a vicious cycle.

I have two buns one had a small case of GI stasis on Tuesday and gave him simethecone 1ml every hour for only 3 hours and he was feeling better instantly, he’s eating now regularly and running around

Is it the other bun that’s producing these weird poop? Difficult to say perhaps, if both buns are housed together? after a bout of stasis, weird looking poops are pretty standard for some time after. As long as there is poop and the bun is eating and running around, there’s nothing else you need to do.

That’s wonderful! I think their poop will get back to normal within 1-2 week, if not sooner!

In general, if no ill effects are observed within 6 hours of the ingestion of a potentially poisonous item, then it is unlikely signs will develop. Gastric transit time is approximately 3 to 6 hours.
