Today I came in from school and saw out the window that Rico, my almost 10 year old dwarf, was staring out of his hutch quite intensely. I automatically went out and opened his hutch and he literally dived out really suddenly somehow running underneath me (I was squatted down). He hoped quite fast to the other end of the Garden considering his age. His ears were pricked and he started stomping and looking around acting really skitzy. I went and stroked him and he seemed to calm but he was still shaking however soon he started to stomp again and jump around and stop with his eyes wide and ears pricked. He does this weird stomp often when feeling territorial it’s a mix of a thump and a stamp really, usually he does it at men like my uncles or at a certain cat who often breaks free (cat is more scared of him than the other way around!) but I’ve never seen him do it quite like this. Worried something was in the Garden I went to get him back in his hutch and he did go in however stomped on the way and stomped inside his hutch which he has never done before. Told my mam and not too long after she went to see him and let him out, he didn’t dive out like the first time but once he was out he again acted skitzy looking around with a few stomps. He has now been sat in the same place for quite a while his eyes still wide, sitting up on two feet. Every time I check on him he is still like that and hasnt moved. Tried to feed him a carrot which he usually loves (obviously) but he only had one bite and moved his head away from it when I put it near.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what it could be that’s made him like this or how I can calm him down.
        Thanks.

It sounds like something scared him, maybe right before you got home?

Could there have been a dog or another animal trying to get at him? Maybe there is also a sound that you cannot hear that is distressing to him?

Might be worth asking your neighbors if they noticed any weird noises or animals around.
