For those of you who like little handmade toys, and there’s a few of you judging from previous threads, take a look at this site.  I found it while doing a image search for agouti coat colouring somehow.  Most are on the opening page but be sure to check the link with the toys made by request too.

            Hey Y’all,
I’m a big fan of needle felting. Here are some photos of my Mini Kay – I don’t have a Mini Winston yet.
By the Way – you can find loads of handmade everything on Esty.com

I actually got a little needle felted bun that looks something like Mimzy off of Etsy. (It has a white muzzle and paws, but the important thing was the loppy ears!)

Awes…Sage, that mini-Kay is SO cute!

Sage, that’s great! So – er I don’t actually know what needle felting is. Didn’t take the time to read about it on that site ^. Is it very tricky? I have these Christmas decorations – glass balls that you can put your own stuff inside them. I was thinking this sort of thing could fit inside, could make my own snow dome without the water.

Needle felting is easy but, the needles are pretty sharp.
You use wool, that has not yet been spun into yarn, and needles, with little barbs on them, to shape the wool.
If you like making things with your hands, and like details – you might like needle felting. There are loads of web tutorials and books out there about it – I checked out a few from my library to learn how to do it. Sweet Needle Felts (www.amazon.com/Sweet-Needle-Felts-Projects-Wear/dp/1600610390) is a good book.
Here are also 2 sites that show a bunch of how to photos:

Thanks! My former job involved alot of manual dexterity and attention to detail so I am orientated toward that sort of thing. I really need to make time for hobbies too. I used to do alot more craft type things as a kid but it fell to the wayside as I grew older – which is a pity. I’ll like to have a go at this!
