We have a new rabbitcam!

Unfortunately, we haven’t figured out how to get the cam to work with Modzilla. So you have to use Internet Explorer.

aww  — they’re so cute!

wow – Rucy’s quite the little starlet! I was treated to a bunny bath followed by a dramatic stretch and yawn – and then she flopped 🙂  Jack is just all flopped out and mellow.  I think Bailey must be meditating since she hasn’t moved at all.

During times when she’s hanging out, you’ll sometimes find her grooming him or laying near it.  At night I put a snuggle safe thing underneath it (stays warm for about 8 hours), and she’ll groom that too. 

It depends on her mood.  When she’s ready to snuggle she’ll snuggle.  That was one of the problems she had with Rucy.  When Rucy wanted to snugggle and Bailey didn’t want to she’d attack her.  So BEEBEE – the toy is perfect for Bailey.

omg im going to give medusa a stuffed animal now. question- do you think if it was not a stuffed animal of a BUNNY it would not groom it?

No, Bailey actually cuddled with a cow before.   And Jack’s first cuddle buddy before a real bunny was a toy bulldog.   I just got the one that looked like Jack because Bailey actually does like Jack. 

I think the most important thing is to make it smell like a bunny or even you.   You can brush Medusa and then rub the brush all over the toy OR sleep with the toy first so the bunny has your scent, and then give it to her  HEY, an idea!!   That actually might help her warm up to you.    She may associate your scent with something harmless and something to cuddle with.   Sure wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.

NOTE:  IF you find she’d rather tear it up, tthen you’ll have to take it away, as I’m sure ingesting the material would not be so good.

So when you go on do you see two window media player windows or nothing at all.  I know just a bit ago, we disconnected the briefly.   But you should at least see two blank cams.

Also do you have windows media player installed?  It will not work with Mozilla at this time.   I hate that. I love Mozillabecause it more secure. I use it often, but they don’t put built in support already and sometimes they don’t provide all the access to the goodies of some toolbars, etc.  

Anyway, there is a way to make it work with Mozilla, it just will take more time.

Let me know if you go back on and it still doesn’t work with IE.

Do you have windows media player installed?  Do you see two windows, but no picture?  If so, then you might have clicked on when we were disconnected briefly.

It does not work with Mozilla yet.   I love Mozilla because it’s more secure, and I use it 90% of the time unless I get to a webpage that it doesn’t work well with.   I find some forums and some video places are not compatible.   Mozilla is challenging in that area because it doesn’t offer some basic built in support to certain tools.

There is a way to make it compatible  on our side, but it takes time.

Let me know if your system is still not working with IE and you have Windows media player installed.

 

Oh, and checked the red/green dot thing with Mozilla.  Seems to be working fine, HOWEVER, I was just told that it refreshes after several minutes so it could take a while.  We are fixing that so that it will refresh within a minute to show that you are on/off.  

If you’ve been on for over 5 minutes and it still shows red, let me know.

BB! this has to be one of your best ideas yet! after reading your post i promptly dusted off a stuffed animal "Mr. Bear" from my shelf and gave it to her. she responded by grooming herself (not the bear) alot and pooping around it to mark. she then fell asleep next to it, head lowered to the ground. then several hours later, she was grooming it! and now she sits really close next to it, like it was her companion. i think this means Medusa is ready for a husbun! if bonding with a real bunny goes as smoothly as with Mr. Bear it would be great!

SOOOOO cute.  sooo soooo cute!   You can never tell how it will go with an actual bunny.  Bailey is with her toy because she doesn’t bond easily, but with Jack it worked out great.  Before I actually bonded he and Rucy, I put the toy bunny in with Rucy to get her smell on him, and I even cut a little slit in the toy’s forehead, and put Rucy’s fur from the brush in there (I call it the stunt double in the bonding section of this site)  And when Jack quickly became bonded with the toy that smelled like Rucy Though at first he gave a few warning huffs and a little gruff "I’m the boss deal" ,but  then once he mellowed out and snuggled, he was happy.   Then when he actually met Rucy, he was already in love.   Rucy wasn’t sure at first what to make of this big white bunny who wanted to snuggle. But it was a quick bond with them.

I am so glad that Bear is making  Medusa happy. YEAH!

eek i had to take mr. bear away because i rolled a lint brush on him and lots of the furry little fibers came off, which means she would have been swallowing alot of these . i gave her my piglet which has alot less "fur" we’ll see if she likes it.

Aww  So the furry fibers were from the bear, not from your bunny? : (    That is a good thought though that I will keep in mind when others want to give their bunny a toy.  If the piglet doesn’t work out, can you wash the bear? So that it can get rid of all the loose fibers?

I know with Bailey’s buddy, it has very short little tiny hairs that do not come loose easily, I always worry about Rucy who grooms Jack, and his hair sheds quite a bit and  his hair is short and course.  That’s why I refresh hay a couple of times a day to keep them interested in munching on  stuff that will help move along the hair.  I’m sure everything will be just fine, but just keep an eye on the litterbox and make poops are the same size and the amount is normal.  

If you are unable to find a buddy that doesn’t shed, then maybe you can find one that isn’t furry, but soft.

I think she thinks of it as a companion, because many times she will lay near it or even right next to it.

Theresa, you may have just been unlucky enough to view it during the time that we were messing with it.  It has been off and on as we work on it.

haha i saw jack humping Rucy in it

Isn’t that hilarious!  He gets that "lovin" feeling many times. Most of the time Rucy brushes him off. I know he’s not doing it to show dominance because he does this little love honk while he’s pursuing her.
