I am just letting you all know that we ended up getting a rabbit from the red door last weds. His name is Henry, and he is on Petfinder if you want to check him out! http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=8826773
Right now we are just fostering him until we see if it works out.. I hope it does, he is the sweetest little thing!! I never realized what a bad bunny Lilly really was until Henry came!! LOL. Lilly is a nutcase and she wont stand it for Henry.. she is being a mean girl. Hopefully it will work out though!
Lilly + Henry doing a bonding in the bathtub… our tub isn’t dirty.. thats all bunny hair!!

Here is Henry sleeping..

Hope it works out! ![]()
If they are fighting in the tub, or at least Lilly is giving Henry a piece of her mind even in the tub, then try the car ride method. Also if it gets rough, you may need to just let them get used to each other’s scent first for a couple of weeks. You can also use the stunt double method. Check out the bonding section and scroll down to stunt double.
Oh, and I forgot to say….how nice of you to foster…I also hope it works out. My bunnies have their paws crossed for ya! Henry is adorable!
Congratulations! He’s beautiful. I really hope it works out for everybun.
He’s so cute! And its such a coincidence – my Henry is ALSO the same coloring, kind of siamese cat style, except with straight ears. Definitely give the car ride a try, but don’t go fast or anything – I bonded my bunnies in a car moving about 5 mph, which is actually better because you can then focus on the bunnies and not the road!
Awwwww! Yay! Henry is a sweetie. Pepper of course, hated him, but she hates everybunny.
Thanks everybody! Last night we did the car ride.. and omg does it work!!! My boyfriend drove, and I sat in the back with the bunnies.. it was amazing how good they were! Henry even groomed Lilly! Lilly is one scared bunny, she was huddling up haha. She didn’t even care that Henry was ON TOP of her for a while!
We are definitley doing it again tonight.
Wendy.. awe.. are you still trying to get a bunny?? You wouldn’t be the bunny Toni was telling me about that comes in all the time but the bun never likes anyone?? Were you there last weds when I was there maybe? lol.
I am not sure if I mentioned this before, but one of the things that I did when our trio bonding hit a snag was to lay on the sofa and have all three bunnies on my chest next to each other. Everybun got nose rubs and ear rubs, and since I was holding them, there was not much room to fight. I still don’t know if it helped, but it was an awfully cozy feeling.
I’ve not been there since June, but it might be Pepper she’s talking about. We’ve been in 4-5 times over the past year, and even took one bun home for a while to foster, but she terrorized him so we brought him back. I wonder if the other bunnies talk about her at night after the people go home?
My touring season ends in a few more weeks, so I’ll be bringing her back in a few weeks. I’m hoping that the fact that I KNOW she was lonely while I was traveling might make her more accepting of another bunbun. Plus I’ll actually have time to try to bond them by then.
I think her issue is that she simply doesn’t speak "bunny". The boys come up carefully, and snuggle her, and she just sits there. This confuses them, so they get a little more pushy, and then she freaks out and attacks. I know that she was also at the shelter for almost a year before I adopted her, so the smell of the shelter may be stressing her out. I’m hoping that she will eventually get that I’m not taking her back for good.
^^ awe.. poor Pepper.. I always feel so sad when bunnies think that!!
I think thats the problem with my bun too.. Henry comes up to Lilly.. but they just sit there.. cause Lilly has no idea what to do! Then eventually either she gets upset and paws him.. or she jumps cause she is scared.. and then. freak out time. lol!
Is the bonding not going to well then? Or are they making progress? Its funny because what you said about Lilly is the same problem that I have with my blind rabbit. When Raymond comes up to her and presents for grooms she doesn’t give any because, well, she doesn’t SEE him presenting! Then he pushes her with his nose which scares her, so then she whacks him, hahahaa, its kind of funny to watch, but poor Raymond just wants some grooms!
it sounds like the car ride went well, have you tried another one of them yet?
yes so far we have had 3 car rides! they are great! but a little while after they get home it starts going sour again…. if only i knew how to keep them in a perpetually scared state for a while!@! lol.
awe i wouldn’t do that..
another idea is shopping carts. we did pretty well putting a blankie in the bottom of a shopping cart and wheeling it around petsmart. If they start to fight you jostle the shopping cart.
What a great idea !! ^^
Connor does that with Coney. Coney wants to be the dominate one and so he will shove his nose under Connor’s head and scares the poop out of the poor guy. Connor is also blind. I wonder if they will ever be able to get along. They don’t fight as much any more but Connor will not give and groom Coney. All we have ever gotten was one single lick out of him. BUT today I found Connor’s secret “oh yeah” spot. I was rubbing his lower spine, right above his tail and he started to lick my other hand. When I would stop he would stop. If only I could tell Coney to do this to Connor.
