Hey everyone!! I finished Thumper’s c&c cage finally and he LOVES it so far. he sprawls out, binkies, flops all over! However, I am still trying to figure out how to keep him from being so loud at night biting the cage and fleece because he wants to play  I was wondering if anyone could give me tips for cleaning the fleece liner? I sewed two fleece blankets together to form a pillow case and then have two uhaul pads between them and I don’t know how I should wash it? Any tips would be great! Also if anyone has tips to quiet a rabbit at night since the cage is in my room I’d be appreciative! He has plenty of toys and constant access to hay! Thank you!

No idea about washing fleece but I have an idea for keeping bun quiet during the night – give him a willow basket full of hay. I gave mine an empty basket, quite a large one and my two monsters spent the night quietly destroying it.

I found this about U-haul pads, maybe the company that makes them could tell you how warm you can wash them if you send them an e-mail?

We tend to throw them in the washer and clean them like anything else. We only wash our bunny stuff together – not mixing it with our normal clothes. We also take it to the launderette so that way we don’t block our washing machine with rabbit fur.

My fleece doesn’t have a liner in it, but I brush the excess fur off, shake them off outside then throw them in on a warm wash. Too hot and you can shrink them. If you’re going to tumble dry I would do so on a low setting, otherwise you risk overheating and shrinking or even melting them!

I also recommend doing an empty wash in your machine after to clear out remnant fur, or washing rags or other clothing that you don’t care too much about because your next load will come out with fur on it

There’s some videos on youtube about washing fleece liners. I like Skinnypigs1, here’s her washing vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb7HoXhLuJo&list=PLZqEjyNSVXGg7Ayi7np28loG-8WiOiejK&index=3

This ^ Especially with the uhaul fleece. That is like a felt and will shrink if goes on hot water then cold.
I think a warm or cold wash should work fine.

Hi funny-bunny, I am a new bun mum. I was wondering do you use any detergent or soap in the laundry to wash your bunny’s item (e.g. fleece bedding, blanket etc)? Thanks!
