            In summary….rabbits are very prone to heat stroke!  This is one of the top 5 deadly mistakes of rabbit owner’s.  Temps in the 80’s can be detrimental to rabbits.  They don’t sweat or pant, so their ears tend to be their cooling “center”.  So b/s the sun, watch your room temps, provide cooling spots if you don’t have AC & be super sensitive to the weather!  Your bunnies are depending on you.

              Here is the link to a very good discussion we had not too long ago on this very same subject:

              Temperatures in the Summer: (How hot is too hot?)

              This is from the Home page;

              Season Tips: How hot is too hot for your rabbit? Season Tips: How hot is too hot for your rabbit?

              Domestic rabbits cannot handle harsh temperatures as well as their wild counterparts. Degrees reaching into the 80’s can be deadly for your bunny.  Check out our Cooling Tips Page and check out our forum discussions on how to keep your bunny cool when temperatures rise!

                I hope this helps keep Shadow cool! I also know some people who move their rabbits to the basement because it is cooler down there as well.

                Read some tips for your bun on how to keep him/her cool. Go up to the panel on the top of the page, scroll over to bunny info, go down to cooling tips and go ahead and read them.
