Hi, It’s up to 88 now that I voted. Weird thing – it said 3 times that it couldn’t read my code numbers (that funky typeface of theirs is so hard to get right), but when it finally accepted my vote, it looked like it had recorded all 3 tries!

I have also written to the holders of the contest asking them if they can check into the voting of the animals or not. If not(i.e. – 10 votes/hour coming from the same IP address), then we’ll need to flood them just like the others are doing. If they can, then it is possible that our votes will get wiped but with such cute buns AND all of us working on it, we’ll have them back up to 250 in no time.

Good luck in raising money for your rescue group. I live in WA state—the home of the OTHER Rabbit Haven. I know too well how hard it is to raise needed money for taking care of the rabbits we have rescued.

Sorry, this is a disgusting demand, knowing that so many people dealing with
rescue, spreading
knowledge on rabbits spend their free time for this, and never ask money or
anything in return for
what they give, some even putting money in it.

 

Housing, feeding, and medical care for rabbit and other animal rescue
costs many thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars per year. The
labor itself is often donated, and volunteers do not ask for anything
else in return, but vets do not work for free. Medication is not free,
and neither are the food and supplies needed to run a shelter. That is
why many rescue orgs file for non-profit status and spend a portion of
time fund raising in any many they can. Without money to cover expenses,
they would simply be unable to function.

I did reply but it is not on there. It is a weird site, its more of a group than a forum. I did say that it didn’t go to the people but the rescue center. I said that Osprey works tirelessly for rescued rabbits, if i can help in some small way to win the $1000 for rescue then I am happy to help. just like all of us here we want to help as much as we can, no matter where we come from.

I have had a couple of people email me saying that other group will not allow their members to reply to my message, the rules are only questions on feeding and care of rabbits, they have said they can understand goof ball questions, they believe this group is way off base with not allowing anyone to help with winning money for a good cause, being rescue groups. They are going to vote for Lassen and Danali, any help is good.

I am asking for help for Osprey who is a tireless worker for rescued rabbits, at the moment a dog is ahead of Ospreys rescued baby rabbits. You can vote once a day and the competition finishes on May the 2nd.

That reply about not asking for money is really pretty funny.  Rescues ask for money all the time.  If we win the $1000, it will immediately be spent on spay/neuter, vet bills, etc.  We have already spent over $1000 on Jossalin, Dixie is close to $1000, and Anzia will be over $1000 soon too.  The volunteers donate their time, money to care for their foster bunnies, gasoline, etc.  This person has no idea what they are talking about.

Thanks for trying on our behalf, Lisa.  That dog picture must have a big group behind it, they are pulling further ahead of us.

You have to log out and then sign up as a new account BUT I did that and I can’t vote with the 2 other accounts now even though I log out and sign in with the different account. It worked at first and now the last few days it doesn’t.

I log out, then sign up with bogus email addresses (such as bbbbgggg@nowhere.com). I currently have my own account plus Accounts Dono1-Dono10. They work on and off. I think that they have some sort of IP thing set up so that only 5 votes can come from the same IP in the same day. I have been able to vote 5 times here at the office and then another 5 at night from home.

I think that they removed the numbers to stop people from flooding the place until their pet was X ahead or so on. So that it isn’t a constant race. However, I have a feeling that after you vote, the pics pop up in the order of first to last. Right now Sophia has passed Baby Faye in votes but it seems our buns are still in the lead.

The initial sorting is newest at the top, oldest at the bottom.  Our picture was the second one submitted, so it is down at the bottom with the old ones.
