Most bunnies will dig, push, and chew on bedding to get things positioned just right, but I always thought Vivian was the hardest to please. The only reason she didn’t mess with her bedding as much in the window box is because in the past, Jack was happy with whatever soft bedding was around him (as long as I built up the sides pretty high so he felt protected –sort of like a natural scrape that rabbits make in the ground, and probably for warmth too.) Vivian would still try and rearrange their window seat bedding but his weight prevented her from doing it too much and so she’d just give up and hang out.
Well, now that she has complete control over the window seat, I just couldn’t figure how she liked it. She keep putting holes in the bedding and it always seems like it was all in her way. So I decided to take all the bedding out and just put it to the side and out of her way. I wanted to see if she preferred no bedding– but I kept three little fleese and a towel nearby so she could use them if she wanted.
So over a few days, she took the three little blankets and rearranged them until she was completely satisfied. Now she is completely happy and settled, (though a few adjustments here and there may happen). So after observing her preference – it looks like she likes things to be much open than Jack ever did — she likes more window viewing space but builds a little bit of a height around her up to her front left and her right side. Maybe for a bit of warmth and a feeling of safety but she doesn’t like to be completely burrowed in like Jack used to prefer. Vivian’s fur is much thicker and so maybe this is a cooler for her, and she likes to look at things more — it doesn’t scare her like it did Jack.
So here is Vivian’s Window bed—as SHE made it:
A little height to her right side, but gives her more viewing to her front right.
(notice her giving me the “ear” as if to say, “What are you doing over there?”)

She created a little height to her front left — very neatly too I must say! (Though on the other side of this mound, there alot of folds and such).

She must feel completely safe and secure here now as she sleeps with her eyes closed!

Next time I have to wash her bedding (she never pees on it thank goodness), I can try and put it back and make it look “nicer” according to my human preference visually, but shape it how she wants it. However, she may want it messy looking and I’ll just have to live with that. ![]()
Awwww….sweet photos. Sometimes it is hard to see things the “rabbit” way :~) and you just have to give in.
Aww! That last pic is to die for! LOVE IT!
Lol cute pics. We gave our buns each thier own blanket and even got them a pet bed but they dont sleep with them. They will play with them rearange them and then go lay on the tile floor or carpet with thier eyes closed. Lol I put a pic on the sleeping bunny forum with Mr. Hopper’s favorite spot.
It’s great to see pix of Viv again.
Sammy has been doing the same thing lately. Now she looks so cozy tucked into her blankie just the way she wants it. They Make me want to go snuggle under my own covers.

I want to second Pam’s emotion, seeing Viv has made my day! What a gorgeous bun her ladyship is!
I wish I could get Mimz to be content with some modest bedding, but he just goes postal with anything soft in his habitat.
Thanks for sharing, BB. I don’t get to the webcam these days, so I love to see these stills posted.
BTW…how is the “sandals and socks” therapy going? Has Vivian yet taught Steve anything about haute couture?
lolz
So I guess mr hopper and nibblette are weird since they never cuddle in their blankets
Hrm, I don’t think mine knows how to close his eyes lol.
Oh Vivian and Sammy look so snugly! No Bullrider, your buns aren’t weird. Ha ha. Rosy loves her soft blankies, but Kevin prefers nothing but tile or wood. No, snuggling for him!
Moosie loves his blankies, I think I need to get him more fleece.
I lvoe seeing pics of pretty Vivian. Glad she is doing better ![]()
Aww Viv looks very comfy! I’m with Pam also, Viv and Sammy made me jealous! I don’t want to go out into the cold morning and go to work, I want to snuggle up in some fleece and take bun naps all day!!!!
Awww, that is absolutely adorable!
SQUEE! I’m so happy to see Miss Vivian!
Sammy too, of course

Petie has a oversized fleece bolster bed I covered neatly with a fleece blankie. Next thing you know, he’s rooting around with it, folding it this way and that. Since then he’s dragged all his hay over the whole thing and just grooms himself on it but doesn’t do any sleeping on it. i’m going to shake it out and brush it off, and start from square one and see if he’ll lie stretched out flopped on it again, with his hay moved someplace else so he can have someplace soft and warm to lie now that the weather is cooling off…Thanks for posting those cute pics of Vivian in her “nest”, I’ll try and learn from it, but I think Petie will be my teacher! lol
And Sammy looks so cozy = and spoiled! lol Hey, I always say “a spoiled bunny is the only kind to have.” I love the way he’s snuggled into his blankies – I could just look at these pics for hours!
MY Samantha Spoiled????? Moi???? Me a Slave to Herself???
sigh. but of course.
Haha, join the club! Yes, I meant “she” not “he”! Sorry
Aww vivian looks so comfy cozyy!
Thanks for sharing!
BB, does she chew on the fleece? I want to give my buns something soft to cuddle in, but I’m always afraid that they will bite and chew it, and also pee on it (we’re working on re-mastering the litterbox now that they’ve been fixed)
