One of my rabbits has been having a problem with re-occurring pinworms. Each time we attempt to treat it, however, she seems to go into stasis. The pinworms have been effecting her so bad lately, that she’s lost weight, appetite, and has been more lethargic. The vet wants to treat the pinworms again. Before we do so, I want to be ready for the stasis episode that is more-than-likely coming her way.

The vet has prescribed me some metacam and metoclopramide just in case she starts to decline, and has shown me how to administer subq fluids. I’ve been giving her bene-bac to try and help boost up the good bacteria in her gut, and will continue to do so. However, if the stasis begins, before I give her any chemical based medication as listed above, I’d like to try just giving her fluids and a B vitamin supplement first, as it would be more gentle and could possible remedy the problem. I talked to my vet about it, and he’s only ever given B vitamin shots to rabbits and is unsure how well an oral B vitamin supplement would be absorbed, and didn’t know where to point me in terms of finding one.

        I found these online:

        1. Vitamin B12 Supplement

        2. Multi-Vitamin Supplement

But I am unsure about how much to give her of the vitamin B12 supplement, (I wouldn’t give them in combination with the multi-vitamin – don’t want to give too much) — but I’ve read that some people’s rabbits had diarrhea when given the multi-vitamin, so I’d like to be prepared just to give her the B12 vitamin, in case she doesn’t react to the multi-vitamin well.

Has anyone had to give their rabbits multi-vitamins or B vitamins orally?

I used to give my sick rabbit oxbow natural science digestive support hay tablets, and vitamin supplement hay tablets. They have vitamin b and some herbal support ingredients.
And sherwood digestive support tabs with papaya extract. I foind the sherwood tabs had the biggest impact on appetite. My bunny always ate better with that supplement regimine. I didnt want to determine a vitamin b dose by myself so i used the rabbit supplements according to the directions on the package, I.e. depending on weight
