Forum DIET & CARE Violet flowers and leaves?

        My rabbit was hopping around outside when she started chewing on some violet leaves and flowers. Are these same for rabbit consumption?

          Violets are safe. Humans can eat them too.

          African violets (the indoors violets with thick, really hairy leaves) are not safe. But they don’t grow outside.

          Pansies are safe to eat too. I just had three miniature-pansy plants eaten down to the bone by what I can only assume must’ve been wild rabbits. They must’ve looked so cute munching =)

            Yes, it depends on the exact plant you’re referring to. African violets are not safe.

              Alright, thanks. I had already known they were safe for humans but I just wanted to be sure because she always goes back to the area filled with violets.
