So I’m thinking of making my own solution to clean up Boston’s cage. Who out there uses this? Is this what you use to clean the cage and whatnot? What is the solution percentage (like 50 vinager, 50 water??) and is it safe to use around buns?

I use a solution of 1/4 vingegar and 3/4 water. Be careful with the acidity and wipe the surface with a damp towel and let dry. If you let the vinegar solution dry, it can leave the surface with a high PH which can hurt your rabbits’ feet.

I use a 50/50 solution to clean the cage and litter box. I didn’t know that it’s supposed to be wiped dry – but there’s a carpet flooring over the bottom of my bun’s cage, so her feet don’t touch the surfaces I clean anyway. I also use the same solution for all my cleaning around the house – bathroom, mirrors, counters, floors. I think it’s fabulous! It’s so much cheaper than buying brand name cleaners and without all the harsh chemicals!

Yes it is fabulous!  I use it a lot too cleaning around the house.

Here are some great “Hints from Heloise” using baking soda and vinegar:
