At the ER now
thankful we have one nearby that’s open at 2am. She’s been acting weird all day and wouldn’t eat her evening pellets
((((((Thor))))))
((((((Thor))))))
Thanks for the vibes guys.
They kept her overnight at the hospital, said her temperature was low (99F). I know she got x-rays and gut motility meds. Waiting to hear from the head vet when he gets in… fingers crossed. It was so scary how quickly she went from eating her salad to lethargic and unresponsive.

Oh no! Hoping Thor hops back quickly after her scary vet visit. Sending you guys lots of love and get-better nose boops. ((((((Thor))))))
Sending all the vibes for you and Thor and so do the boys <3
Oh {{{Thor}}}. Be well, little one.
(((((((((({{{{{{{{{{Thor}}}}}}}}}}))))))))))
Get better

 ((((Thor))))
((((((Thor)))))
Hope there is good news soon.
You guys are the best, vibes seem to be helping!
I got a call from the vet and she is doing a bit better. They were able to warm her up by this morning. I got to stop by on my lunch break and she definitely seemed more with it. I dropped off her stuffy and her favorite hay
Still not many poops and she only has a bit of an appetite, so they might keep her another night. I know they’re good with her, but its so sad to see her all stressed out and alone in her vet cage… just want my baby home!

“just want my baby home!”
I can imagine. Little Thorbsy….((((({{{{{Thor}}}}})))))
She’s staying at the vet overnight, but they think she can come home tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed!
(((Thor)))
Fingers SO crossed!
Poor darling
Is she moulting and that’s what triggered it?
Oh darling (((((Thor))))) !! I’m late to this
 How is she doing?
Get well soon girl! ![]()
Hooray for Thor! Here’s hoping she only continues to improve and she’s ready to go home first thing
 (((Thor)))
Hey guys sorry to be MIA for a bit.
 Thor is home
But she’s still pretty out of it. Since being home around noon, she’s nibbled on some hay, got one CC feed and took a few small leafs of lettuce. However, since she got home she will pretty much only sit in one spot looking zonked out. About 7 hours after getting her home, she did pee and I saw 4 poop pellets. That’s something but not enough!
Aside from critical care, she came home with gut motility med Metoclorpamide and pain meds TraMADol. The opioid medication worries me, aren’t some side effects of opioids constipation and nausea? But our vet is very knowledgeable. Has anyone else been given something similar for their buns for pain?
Also yes very concerned because we still don’t know what started this incident!
The first vet we saw in the middle of the night thought it might be her teeth. But our primary veterinarian looked the next day and said he’s sure that’s not the issue. I’m inclined to believe him because he got to look while she was sedated getting an x-ray. Other than that, there have been no changes. No new foods, or things in our house, no big molt…
Poops! 18 poops!
Yes… I counted… ![]()
Hurrah for poops! Keep going Thor!
A Prayer for Poops /o/
Yay for 18 poops!
Of course you counted them. That’s one of the primary duties of a bun owner! =D
Poops are such harbingers of joy!
Ooh I’m late to this, but so glad to read she’s improving!
I did read something from the HRS about Tramadol for buns, found the article:
http://www.columbusrabbit.org/newsletters/newsvol8issue1.pdf
The article is about 6 years old, so maybe more research has been done since then!

Hurray for Poops!!!!! ![]()
I’m glad to hear she’s home. ((((Continued Healing Vibes)))))
I’m glad she’s home, and extra glad she’s pooping!
I’ve never had opiates for my buns, but I’m extremely allergic to them so I always mention that to vets as I don’t think I could administewr then safely- maybe that’s why?
If she’s pooping, something is going right!

She’s feeling better now! Even ate her pellets this morning

Thanks everyone so much for the vibes. It’s hard to explain to non-rabbit people why it’s so stressful to have a poorly bun.
I’m still concerned we don’t know what set this off though, I checked an her last stasis episode was almost exactly a year ago in October as well. Maybe it has to do with the season? Or something totally unrelated? Any suggestions on her diet or preventative measures would be much appreciated
Glad she’s feeling better.
Has she ever had her teeth checked? Molar problems can cause stasis.
Yes that was my first worry too, but they checked her teeth just now when she was under for her x-ray. Vet says they look fine, a little maloclusion in her front teeth, but those are wearing down OK. And no points on the molars that he found…
Is she possibly less active as the season becomes cooler?
Yay, glad that she’s home and eating! Many bunnies have stomach problems when they go into moult. Could that be it?
Beautiful girl. Glad to read she is doing better.

Did they see much in the x-ray? Gas, or where the food/poop was at the time?
It was so scary how quickly she went from eating her salad to lethargic and unresponsive.
That is so odd. Like she went into shock. Do you get spider or centipedes in the house sometimes?
I suppose some severe gas pain could do it. Were there any greens that were different? Even different brand? Or did she happen to scarf them down faster?
I agree about moult theory also. Perhaps she is coming into a big moult. Did she do that this time last year?
Hm, well last year we attributed it to a heavy molt. But right now she’s not shedding heavily, in fact she just finished an epic molt. I suppose it could always be down to hair ingestion, she always seems to have at least one shed line going

She actually seems to get more active as the season is colder, we’ve been seeing tons of binkies and zoomies lately

The shock theory sounds most plausible actually, the emergency vet said she was in shock, and they treated her for toxins as soon as she got in. We do get spiders occasionally, but we’re in the northern US so not much too dangerous (I think). I wonder if she just got into something that we didn’t notice?
Ugh, stressful! But I’m sooo happy she’s feeling better now. I just saw a few binkies and now she’s trying to destroy the grass mat I put up to stop her chewing on the baseboards ![]()
Spiders!? Scary ?
Vibes ((((({{{{{THOR}}}}})))))
Small update on this, we never did find out what happened to set off the incident. Thor has a follow-up appointment on Thursday so maybe we will get some insight then.
Just making a case for getting your bun insured! So worth it! We payed $700 for Thor’s 2 night stay and just been refunded $400
on a grad students budgetit’s a big help!
Congrats all around. It’s great to hear good and successful news…it seems so far and few between all the bad as of late. Yay Thor! A little extra vibage for little {{{{{Thorsy}}}}}, just because.
Way to go Thor! ![]()
