Hello, My bunny who is a male of 7 months, he dug his way out of his play pen. He is covered in mud and also in pee.

Is there anyway to make him white fur? I had washed him once with small pet shampoo by Kaytee, but he is still pretty dirty.

His album of his fur and himself I want to get rid of the pee and mud stains in his fur. He is a mini rex + dutch mix.

I’m sure he looks worse than those pictures.

          Hi. He’s cute!
We strongly suggest to never bathe a bunny unless directed by a vet to do so as it can cause hypothermia and a heart attack.

You can take a warm wet wash cloth and wipe his feet down but completely dry him after. Bunnies are great groomers and can clean themselves very fast. White hair is hard to clean so you usually have to wait until the next molt for clean white fur.

When he’s still wet, if it happens again, you can also dust his bum with cornstarch and brush it out.

I wouldn’t recommend trying to clean it if it’s just stains and not actual clumpy mud or residues. It can probably wait till he sheds his current coat. The new fur will grow in nice and clean again.

My bun had a bout of illness previously and had pee stains all over his white tail and rear area. I tried wiping it etc but it didn’t work, so I just brushed him and waited patiently for new fur to grow in. Stains don’t usually affect anything other than aesthetics, and bathing him or trying other ways to rid of the stains may do more harm than good.
