Venting and questions…..

ok so here goes, I have a bad back, I’ve been trying to get my boyfriend to help rearrange so we had enough room for another cage for the boy who was not sexually active yet. i bugged & bugged him last night…nothing. I go into the buns room this morning all going normal, then he starts humping the only one that might be sexually mature (on top of it she has been a little fatter then the rest since day one and I knowtice her looking a little fatter this past week so I wondered, it would be from before we got her) . So now I have to rearrange the best that I can and build this cage, I don’t know where to put the book case and we were gonna get the dressers out. meaning there is not squat for room he is gonna have to be in a 2×2 for now (will still have levels). Then the girl buns see him in this cage next to them and start getting this concerned look, then boom one starts chasing the other one like mad and I;m thinking holy cow I;’ve never seen them play like that before…..then I see the chunk of fur in the black ones mouth. the black one is suppose to go to the neighbor but she needs to get her boy neutered. Anything I can do about them being upset? breathing…must go finish cage now…I think I will have some coffee after all today…..

yep, sounds like you’re starting to see the changes that happen when bunny hormones kick in. I really would get them separated ASAP.
Maybe tell your boyfriend that unless he helps out tonight that he’s going to have a heck of a time helping raise the litter of baby rabbits!!

I moved what I could and made him a cage on the spot. it’s just tight in the room cuz the dressers are in there and the girls got mad when he left and started fighting eachother. well one of them tried fighting I should say. they are still next to eachother but far enough a way that it won’t happen through the cages. dunno what’s with the boyfriend, apparently to much work for him during the weekday , we have more then enough animals and I don’t get why he isn’t understanding of this situation , he’s a great guy he just gets lazy and this isn’t one of those things to get lazy about. the girls are fine now and the boy seems sad with out his pals, I called the vet today and the girl that answered wouldn’t make an appointment cuz I was new and wouldn’t believe that I had all ready spoked to them about this. It was frustrating.

Oh my Amy, I really hope that the space can be opened up soon and I cannot believe that the gal at the vet gave you such a hard time.  My word. Have a nice cup of chamomile tea and a hot pack for your back and be sure to take it easy!

I read that far too quickly and thought, “WHAT? she caught her boyfriend humping the buns?? And all she’s worried about is the rearrangement….” (forgive moi, i haven’t slept well again)
