According to the house rabbit society’s page, for “teenager” rabbits, it says quantities under 1/2 oz.  Does this mean under 1/2 oz. for all three veggies together, or under 1/2 oz. for EACH veggie that day?

Also, what about fruits for this age of rabbit?

He is currently 14 weeks old, and so far he has tried romaine, green leaf, petite carrots, green bell pepper, cilantro, parsley, celery, and banana (I think that’s all lol)…so far so good, but I’ve only given him very very small amounts.  The banana I’ve given him has been an even smaller amount, like almost just a taste/tease

I don’t really know about the limit for veggies. I never followed any limit when Meadow was younger, I just slowly introduced different types and gradually gave more. I don’t even think I’d KNOW how to measure out a 1/2oz of romaine lettuce? I would follow his lead and start giving a little bit more each week, working your way up to two cups when he’s about 6 months. You know he does well with the veggies you’ve already tried, so now you can give romaine and an herb in addition to a new veggie each week. Try collard greens. Those are a favorite in my house. Fruits should be very limited always, baby, teenager, or adult. Just a small amount a few times a week.

I have not actually weighed out the veggies either lol, but I know he is getting less than a C. a day..do u think I could start out by 1/2 C. increments until the 6 mos/2 C. limit has been reached? Like titrate him up to 1 C. and keep it there for a while then 1.5 C, then finaly to the 2C when he’s 6 mos? I jut don’t want to over-do it

I bought some kale today but haven’t given him any yet! I’ve seen many ppl on here say their rabbinos love it.

For the fruit, I noticed on the house rabbit page it says no larger than your thumb. Is this about the right quantity?

That sounds about right for the fruit. Just don’t give too much.

I don’t think you’re going to give too many veggies, just work up to it.
