Hi, i don’t know whats going on with my rabbit’s vagina/anus (i can’t spot the difference) but it doesn’t look the way it looked. I need to mention that she had cecal dysbiosis for a few days (i don’t know the reason for that, nothing changed in her diet) and she’s been cleaning herself a lot down there and pulling her fur. I’m really scared i don’t know why it looks inflamed to me, i don’t know if this is only missing fur or something serious but i do know that her vagina never looked this way. I try to help her with the cleaning process because she has some dried poop stuck in her fur. I’m taking her to the vet first thing in the morning but every advice is welcomed. Please help me and tell me this isn’t something big, I’m really scared.

I suppose if she is messing with the area a lot, it could become irritated. You could try to clean it up, but messing with it too much is just going to irritate it more. Have you noticed any incontinence or straining to pee? Sometimes a UTI will cause genital irritation.

No, no straining at all. She acts perfectly fine eating drinking running around, no signs of pain. I stopped giving her pellets she’s only on hay now, i suppose that should stop the cecal dysbiosis. I picked her up this morning it looks much better than yesterday but it still looks a little bit swollen maybe from all the pooping and licking the area. I will be monitoring her. I think the fur should grow back as she stops plucking it all the time because of the cecal dysbiosis. Her poops seem OK this morning.

If she’s been having more wet poos due to the cecal dysbiosis, it could be from that. With my Fable, she became inflamed down there as a consequence of all her gut stuff and the constant wet poo/grooming she’d do down there.

I don’t know the reason for the cecal dysbiosis, she’s only on hay and water i don’t see what could possibly disturb her stomach. She’s cleaning herself like a freak.

Compulsive grooming (as opposed to normal grooming frequency) is often a sign of discomfort/stress, so it is good that she is going to the vet. I recommend blood work since you cannot identify anything objective that has changed.

Well she’s grooming herself a lot because of the cecal dysbiosis, mushy poops get stuck in her fur. I don’t know why she produces mushy poops only in the morning. Like she would produce one normal formed cecotrope and in the next couple of hours she would produce like 3 more cecotropes that are mushy and not well formed. Then she would proceed with her normal routine (eating, drinking, pooping normal dry poops).
