Vacation -Getting NERVOUS!!

Well first of all, this will be my first time flying, so I’m inherently nervous!

But we’ll be gone to Kentucky for a week starting this Wednesday, and of course nervous bunny mommy is getting antsy about leaving her baby behind.

I knoowww I really have nothing to worry about. I have a WONDERFUL friend who is going to come over twice a day and take care of her; she’s never owned a bunny but she’s an animal lover and understands my nervousness. She even accompanied me on the hour-long drive to the vet’s when Little-Bit went into stasis. (She was also Binkles’ and Little-Bit’s bunnysitter when we were in Kentucky last spring when Little-Bit was just a tiny sickly baby. She crushed up her pills for her and gave them to her mixed in with baby jar squash every day.) She knows what to look out for/ be worried about and everything. So I know I can count on her to do an awesome job and keep me up to date.

It’s just…gah! I’m nervous! I’ll miss my baby. This will be my first time leaving her for more than a couple of days since she’s been bonded to me.

Flying is easy! Unless of course its one of those teeny tiny planes then I freak out lol. I was so nervous on that tiny plane and I was flying alone, then got lost in the airport. By the time I found where my luggage should have been it was gone Sounds like you have a terrific bunsitter! Ill be a wreck when I go on vacation, I dont have an awesome bunsitter. What are you coming to Kentucky for? There is really nothing here lol

I’m sure that everything will be just fine. I always take a pic of my bunnies with me when I go without them and put them as a wallpaper background on my cell phone too so they’re right there with me.

Lol. Kentucky has horsies! :p But no, we have family up there lol. It’s actually a really, REALLY beautiful state, and if you’re an artistic type like me who just enjoys to sit endlessly and enjoy the pure beauty of nature, it’s a wonderland!

But you’re right. Aside from that and racehorse gambling, Kentucky sucks. xD

Ohhh, I knowww she’ll be okayyy…I’m just worried, because this will be her first real time away from me. I wouldn’t say that she’s more bonded to me than Binkles was necessarily, but I think through a combination of mourning over the loss of Binkles and just plain wanting to do better by Little-Bit, I wound up bonding her tighter to me. She really, really loves me, and she just gets SO excited whenever she sees me or when I talk to her or play with her. I’m just worried that she might get a little worried (and/ or lonely) after not seeing me for a couple of days..

It’s times like these that I really, really hope that animals don’t have much in the way of a real sense of time. But I know they must, since it takes bunnies who have lost a mate a few days to realize it and start grieving.

Is there any way you can arrange for a time to call on your friend when she is at the house taking care of Little Bit so that your bun can hear your voice over the phone?
Jeez, girl, you’ve got more courage than me…I not only DESPISE flying, but I couldn’t leave my bunnies for any amount of time like that. I get nervous about them when I’ve just gone into town and that’s only 60 minutes round trip! 0_o

But if this is someone you’ve left her with before, I would try not to worry. And think of how happy she’ll be to see you upon your return!

Oh, Mimz! I wish I could spend as much time with my baby as you do! xD But I guess that maybe in this circumstance, it’s a good thing that I’m away from her when I’m at school/ work, since I guess being gone from her for long periods of time like that has kind of prepared her for my 7-day absence.
