as a rabbit repellant for behind the bed/satellite cable and may I say ….COCO DISAPPROVES!!!

I made thick cardboard barriers..which she can’t quite get though, but she keeps trying. Digging, biting at the floor heater.

So this morning I brought in the water bottle and when she stuck her nose in to push against the cardboard, I gave her bum a squirt. She popped up, looked around and went back to her break in attempt…so I squirted her again.

At which point, she rounded and sprang up onto the bed to stare at me.(Me thinking – How did she know it was me?)

She’s gone back twice and gotten squirted each time. She hops back over to the other side of the room to groom and ponder her countermove, which I have no doubt willbe spectacular.

But golly, don’t I feel guilty about squirting her!?!

aw i think the squirting works sometimes especially when they are biting/digging at stuff, have you considered using NIC cubes? she may not be so determined to get through them, also you could put something on there to chew like those things you attatch to the outside of hutches you know? and they may stop her wanting to get through, good point though how did she know it was u? lol

Yeah, I looked at them – The problem is that it is a tiny space between our bed and the wall…and she climbs up on the heating element and scuttles back and forth. With winter fast approaching, I don’t want her to be in the habit of being on the heater. I have the bottom of the bed well blocked off (famous last words!) but it is this space ( the width of the wall heater) that demands to be conquered.

The good news is that the Oxbow Bungalow is getting more heavy duty biting from her. And I ordered a Maze Haven yesterday and a few other biting toys from Binkybunny – so I am hoping to make her bedroom ( my bedroom but who am I kidding) ready for a long Montreal winter….

I read your post and chuckled Baleful. I get the same response from my two as well. But in all it sounds like it is working to some degree. Is the heater an old-fashioned radiator and circulates hot water? If so you can place a board on top of it. Also, if you put an electric blaket on your bed, be very, very careful with the cords. Rabbits, if you haven’t figured out are masters at making us humans feel supremely guilty, no matter what.
