her chronic upper respiratory infections, recent disorientations, and super mucous discharge. even on pen-g shots, enrofloxyn, and tobramicin nose drops regularly since august. she was having trouble breathing this afternoon and holding her head up with he mouth open while breathing. i took her into the emergency vets this afternoon. the x-rays showed her lungs were full of nodules. there was nothing at that point that could be done. even in the compartment at the emergency clinic that was being pumped with oxygen she was still in distress. it was better to be in control of her final moments than to have her suddenly go into a mad panic when she started suffocating. I said my goodbyes and told her i loved her. I sat on a stool with her on my lap while they gave her the muscle relaxant, and then we moved over to a table and I cradled her with her chin resting on my arm while they administered the anesthetic.
i’m drained and exhausted both physically and emotionally
Oh Mike, I’m so sorry :'( :'( :'( I don’t know what to say.
No greater act of love than the last we sometimes must perform. I know it must hurt terribly. I’ll light a candle for her.
Binky free Usako <3 <3 <3
Oh geez I’m so sorry. My condolences to you and Shana. You’ve fought hard for your baby.
It’s an incredibly hard thing to do but there’s that point when you know you just have to. You love them and just have to say goodbye. So so sorry. Binky free Usako!
Oh, that makes me so sad LHM. I know you are heartbroken – it’s sad to lose our seniors and especially when you’ve done everything you can. She was so lucky that she had you to care so deeply for her.
I was so sad when I saw this. I’m sorry Mike. I know she had been going through quite a bit with her health problems. You did such a good job caring for her, I’m sure she knew she was loved. =)
I’m so very sorry. I know how much your bunnies mean to you. And Usako was so lucky to have a life with you. Letting go of a special bunny is so very hard.
