        Ok needing some sympathy

I drove my friends sisters cat to the spay clinic to get him neutered, as she said they’d be rehoming hm due to spraying; I told them he was spraying as he wasn’t neutered; I had to get up really early to take him in and spend time driving him home; only for a thank you and to know the cat was staying with his family….

Then I find an ad rehoming him for free on kijiji

I replied with DAve’s email address asking for pictures to ensure it’s him, and if it is, I think I’m going to confront her! Seriously I feel like crying-I had no problem taking three hours out of my day to get him neutered so he could stay home, not so they could rehome him. I’m so mad right now

        *need hugs*

Grrrr! (((Swympafee))) That is sooooo rude. Hope you didn’t pay for the op too. You strike me as the kind who’ll go above and beyond for people (well their animals really) so it’s hard when others don’t respond in kind – but this is like a slap in the face!!
Can you talk to your friend about it first? She can let them know you’re upset about it. Or do you not want to involve her?  This idea seems like asking for more trouble – but maybe you could oversee his rehoming AND collect the fee! Least then you’ll know he goes to a good home.
Seriously, it’s amazing how people act sometimes! Stick with the animals!

OH BUGGER! Just read they’re rehoming him for free! Sorry, missed that. Give us the Kijiji link, I’ll bombard them with some pointed questions from afar. They won’t know why some psycho chick from Australia is harrassing them!

Can’t resist your offer of backup -especially since I’ve confirmed it’s the cat and she’s lying in the ad (They aren’t moving they want to replace the cat with another dog)

that is absolutely absurd that they would do that to you! i cannot believe the way people act sometimes!! they need to just take responsibility for their animals. if they wanted a cat they should know they cannot just replace animals because they decide they would rather have something else. thats ridiculous! im sorry K&K!

“no is still spraying way worse now, hes been #$@!ting alll over the place too so i think im gonna give him away or take him to the spca”

Nice -some people shouldn’t have animals ever

Jeez – that’s horrible. I like how she claims “she’s not a problem at all” despite the fact that she’s getting rid of her because of the bad behaviour. That’s so lame. And then the ad looking for an apartment for her dog. Grrrr!

I have learned that you can’t change people.  If she wants to get rid of the cat, she is going to do it regardless.  If by some chance she keeps the cat- she won’t be inclined to spend any money on ZIggy if he ever needs vet care (not like he already doesn’t need the money spent to be neutered).

I think some people are just born having a conscience about animals and you could not live your life any other way.  And the people that don’t have the draw and love for animals can fake it for a while but when the going gets tough- they bail.  I am so upset with my husband’s sister- she gave away her cats because they slept on the bed at night and kept her awake, and then a month later gave away her dog because she then wanted to move.  I guess I should not say upset- but extremely disappointed.  I have not said anything to her, but I am sure she knows that I very much do not approve and hubby does not either.  Her reasons were insane and were just excuses.  I thought she had matured a little when she had the cats neutered, declawed and had them for over 3 years- but clearly she is how she is.  I will NEVER be excited about her getting another pet again.

That is so skanky. Poor cat. AT this point the cat probably be better off with a real and devoted animal lover.  People suck    Except for animal lover real ones. I agree stick with your pets.

That’s terrible! The nerve of some people.

I get extremely annoyed of people who give away pets for no good reason! It makes me so furious. Especially when it’s a cat or rabbit. The shelters all over are so swamped with cats that my local SPCA is only keeping new cats for 4 days before putting them down right now. I almost cried when I heard this. I want to help them all…

You know, this cat deserves a better home anyway. Is there any possibility of finding a home for the kitty yourself and offering that to the piece of human offal that is your best friend’s sister? Do you know of anyone who has room for a kitty?

I know, more work for you that you don’t need…but think of poor kitty. Who (or what) is liable to wind up with him on kijiji?

K&K can I ask when you took the cat to be fixed?  Doing a lil investigating……….WHAT HAVE YOU STARTED – LOL! I never look at this kinda thing but since looking at kijiji yesterday, I’ve gone back and done some perusing. I don’t want to make it a habit though!
How accurate are the linked maps? Like is the red arrow on the map basically in the exact area where people live? If so, I may have uncovered some more falsehoods! It’s gonna be like I’m becoming a Kijiji P.I. !

Oh and I saw this woman posting about wanting a free cat because she was lonely and wanted something she could care for>>>Then 2 weeks later posting that she needs to give away her cat – Price: Best offer!

how frustrating!!! K&K… you do everything you can on a daily basis to help animals… and then within your own little circle you have people who just don’t give a… *bleep*

i understand that stuff happens, for whatever reason you cannot fulfill your responsibility… I GET IT. but it makes me super angry when these folks go out and get other pets. if you can’t care for something properly, i agree, find it a better home, give that pet a second chance, but stop the cycle RIGHT THERE… don’t keep buying & rehoming, adopting & surrendering.

I know how you feel Beka,

When my little piggy passed away, I found a just right baby girl on Craigslist, on the phone the lady said she had no room for the babies so I went over to get her as a friend for my remaining piggy.

The woman was obviously a horder of everything! Her house was in a really nice neighborhood, but inside it was piled to the ceiling with stuff. She had several pairs of pigges that had babies and she was keeping each family IN A STORAGE PLASTIC TUB (with airholes of course!) THE TUBS WERE STACKED 3 HIGH! maybe nine all together.

I was pretty freaked. Each group had several inches of clean litter, a food bowl and water bottle so you couldn’t say they were being deprived of that stuff, but I couldn’t believe the poor things had lived their lives in there. They all had names and she seemed quite fond of them, but it was clear that they were just breeding machines and she was clearly disappointed I didn’t take more than one.

To top it off, once I was in the car with the baby, she came out and said that the other baby was a boy (2.5 months old) so I should watch for signs of pregnancy, acting like this was a great gift she wasn’t charging me extra for.

Geez, turned out, Sweetpea was prego and gave birth to 2 little ones. One died very shortly after birth and the other seems ok. I just couldn’t believe she was keeping all the sexes together and thought that living that way was fine. She was all about telling me about food and vitamins but when I mentioned that ours get out of their condo to run and play, she said they didn’t need that, that all they do is eat, sleep and make little babies.

AARRRGGGHHHHHHHH! I glad we got Sweetpea, but it makes me crazy knowing she’s breeding more and more of them like that.

                                              Kathy

I would confront her.  I would tell her she was a waste of carbon, and that if they tested people to determine whether or not they were responsible or human enough to have pets or children, she would fail.

                                                        But then, I’m pretty harsh.
